VACCINE UPDATE 10/10/22 - We will still have walk-in vaccinations available but our hours have changed. Vaccines are now available walk-in only from 2PM to 5PM Monday to Friday.

On August 31st every year, people around the world remember loved ones gone too soon due to overdose deaths. According to the CDC, there were an ~100,000 drug overdose deaths in a year
in the United States. This is an increase of ~30% from previous years. It is important to support those around you who struggle with addiction, and it is important for you to be trained on how to
recognize and administer lifesaving medication, naloxone, in an emergency.
First Aid for Drug Overdose:
- There can be a range of signs and symptoms when someone is overdosing on a
medication. Here are some symptoms to look for: headache, seizure, chest pain,
unconscious, difficulty breathing, confusion, agitation, gurgling
- Administer naloxone, which is available without a prescription at a pharmacy
- Seek emergency help by calling 911
- Note what drugs the person took and how long ago they took them

Today is National Senior Citizen’s Day! How will you be showing your senior citizens some love today?
Ways to celebrate senior citizens!
- Volunteer at your local nursing home
- Write a note or call a loved one
- Spend time with your loved ones that are elderly
- Create a family history project and learn more about your ancestors
- Host a celebration and invite your elderly family and friends you appreciate them
Hiking and outdoor sports are wonderful summer and fall activities! It is important to always wear EPA-registered bug spray to avoid mosquito bites and other bug bites! Mosquito bites can not only be itchy and irritating, but they can also spread diseases in even in Ohio. July 28 - Today is World Hepatitis Day! Take a moment to learn about what hepatitis is and how we can protect our community through vaccination.
Biking is a fun summer activity for the whole family! It is important to always wear a well-fitting helmet, no matter your level of biking experience.
Helmets should have a snug but comfortable fit, sitting level on the head with the bottom edge 1-2 finger widths above the eyebrow.

UV Safety Month - Protect your skin and eyes this month by grabbing your favorite shades, sporting a wide-brim hat, and picking up some sunscreen from O'Reilly! Reapply SPF 30 or higher every 2 hours for the best UV protection.
Enjoying a dip in the pool should be both fun and safe, so make water safety a priority for your summer!
Inexperienced swimmers should wear U.S. Coast Guard-approved life jackets in and around water in addition to constant adult supervision.
Water wings, inflatable toys, or water recreation items should never replace adult supervision.
Secure home pools with barriers to prevent unsupervised access.

With several parts of central Ohio experiencing an excessive heat warning and power outage, Worthington Parks and Recreation Department is here to help the community cool off.
The Worthington Community Center will be open daily for families and individuals to cool off and charge devices. Those looking to cool down can visit the front desk for assistance.
The cooling and charging station will be offered until power is restored.
