We’re super excited to have him join our growing family and we know he’ll play an integral part in serving our community!
Ian Swaine is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist. He graduated from the State University of New York at Cortland with a Bachelor’s Degree of Fitness Development with a concentration in Psychology. He believes the greatest benefit of exercise is self-improvement; which enables a person to unlock their highest capabilities and become the best version of themselves. He has trained clients of various types, assisting them in achieving higher levels of performance inside and outside of the gym. Past clientele includes collegiate, high school and youth athletes of various sports including basketball, track and field, soccer, lacrosse, and Ju-Jitsu. He has helped people increase muscle mass, lose fat and enhance their quality of life overall.

We know we have been away from social media for a bit, but its been with good reason as great things take time to build. Truth be told, we have been assessing the landscape of Soccer Strength and Conditioning, trying to find the best way we can help educate and impact players not only in the immediate area of our studio, but nation-wide, or even globally. While soccer performance is definitely moving in the right direction these days, there is still a long way to go relative to providing the level of training players need to perform at optimal levels for the duration of their season. To do just that, we have assembled a team of strength coaches who have trained players at the highest levels all over the world. Coaches who aspire to make a real impact in the future of the game and their resumes prove it.
With that said, we would like to introduce you to Pursuit FC.
The goal of this program is simple: to provide players and clubs an opportunity to perform at their highest levels. We do this by focusing on implementing strategies that will expedite a player's results and neglect the ones that don't. Our no fluff, principles over systems training methodology will not only compliment a player's chaotic schedule without compromising performance on the field, but it will have our players performing at peak levels for the duration of their season. That is a guarantee.
To kick things off, this summer, outside of our private training services that we offer here at Pursuit, we are offering both college and club/high-school summer off-season programs!
Our 10-week college off-season program starts May 15th, with assessments running the week of May 7th.
Our 8-week club/high-school program starts July 10th, with assessments running the week of July 2nd
Each program will consist of 2 strength days and 2 conditioning days per week! That is 4 sessions per week which will focus on improving a player's running mechanics relative to acceleration, max speed and change of direction, and of course their strength and power development. We will also have several presentations focusing on nutrition and recovery strategies to bring even more value to the program.
As our focus here is creating a world-class experience and program, spots will be limited to 10 players per age group/class.

October is a very special time for us here at Pursuit. Not only do we celebrate our anniversary every year on the 1st of the month, but we have an opportunity to make even more of an impact in our community. With it being Breast Cancer Awareness Month, it’s only right to host and dedicate our anniversary party to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation.
The party will be on October 29th at 12:00 Noon! It will include a free workout with live music, food and drink, and giveaways! This event is open to anyone interested in attending!

Depending on your goals and needs, the Trap Bar Deadlift is an incredibly beneficial modality to use! Here’s why:
1. The trap bar allows the load to be placed in-line with your center of mass which may decrease some stress on your low back.
2. The trap bar gives you the freedom to be in a position that is more comfortable for you. You don’t have to fully hinge at the hips and can have a greater degree of knee flexion, which inherently means mobility demands are decreased.
3. The faster learning curve of a trap bar relative to a barbell can potentially mean expedited progression, which in turn can provide faster strength and hypertrophy gains.
