Okra Dance: Africa to Broadway

Wyckoff children of all ages will explore how American dance evolved from its African roots and European influences into the popular stage and social dances that we see today. Two versatile performers take you from classical court dances and the Irish reel, to vaudeville, tap, and even the cultural impact of Michael Jackson - all of this and more is packed into this highly entertaining and informative perspective on American history.

Education Explorers: Wacky Weather

Our "Explorers" will go through the scientific method and conduct two meteorology based experiments. First, they will discover how rain clouds make rain. Then they will create their very own "tornado in a bottle." In this fun and hands on class, our "Explorers" will come to understand how "Wacky" weather can truly be!

Museum Pass Program
Need to entertain your kids or grandkids this summer? Why not check out Art, Artists & You
a new interactive experience aimed at encouraging children and their families to explore self-expression and identity through art-making. This dynamic, hands-on environment offers visitors unique opportunities to watch, follow, collaborate with, and take inspiration from working contemporary artists in studio workspaces created especially for this exhibit at the Children's Museum of Manhattan.
Free and highly subsidized passes are also available to the Museum of Natural History, The Intrepid, The Museum of the City of New York, The Montclair Art Museum, The Children's Museum of Manhattan, the Newark Museum & The New-York Historical Society Museum and Library.

Tom Hanks made his directorial debut in this bright comedy set in the mid-1960's about a rock group and their brief fling with fame. A local Pennsylvania band scores a one hit wonder in 1964 and rides the star-making machinery as long as they can, with lots of help from its manager.
