LGBTQ+ RIGHTS MATTER 🚨
Hello Everyone! We are hiring volunteers for The EEA. Come join Our fantastic team!
In light of the indigenous movement this brings attention to residential schools and the loss of children's lives. An era of colonization and genocide to indigenous peoples.
On the final day of month, we encourage everyone to view the progress that the world has made, while not blind to the injustices that those of the LGBTQ+ community still face daily. We finally have a government, on the federal level, that is working tirelessly to ensure that g**s, le****ns, transgenders, and bisexuals are taken care of in this country. In a quote by Kamala Harris, the Vice President of the United States she said "No one should have to hide, for unity and diversity are our strengths and our powers." Continue to fight for LGBTQ+ rights, allies, and members of the community please always be true to yourself and don't let a single soul tell you that you aren't good enough. Happy Pride.
Hello everyone! Its Pride Month 🏳️🌈 Take some time today to tell an LGBTQ+ person how much you love and support them! Happy Pride from The EEA!
Today the EEA is celebrating Juneteenth! President Biden signed legislation on Thursday 06/17 to make Juneteenth a federal holiday, marking June 19 as the national day to commemorate the end of slavery in the United States!
Today is the last day of May, AAPIHM! That does not mean we will stop our endless support and celebrations for these amazing people! It has been an honor celebrating with all of you!
For AAPIHM we are celebrating the life of Ryu Gwan-Sun. Ryu was a Korean independence activist organizer for the March First Independence Movement against Imperial Japanese colonial rule of Korea in South Chungnam. Ryu became one of the most famous figures in this movement and later a symbol of Korea's fight for independence.
Today for AAPIHM we would like to celebrate Phillip Vera Cruz. During the farm worker strikes in the 60s, Vera Cruz helped unite Filipino and Mexican laborers, which turned the union into a major force in the American labor movement. “I took it as a duty to fight for the union".
The Wylie Independent School District of Wylie, Texas has failed to effectively implement and enforce policies that protect students of minority classifications. The Equal Education Association intends to fight for all minority students and let Wylie ISD know that we are tired of their false narratives and shadow-kept apologies. Wylie ISD students and parents of minorities should not have to envelop the shame and hardship that they do when sending their kids to school on their own tax dollars. All students deserve to be treated equally, fairly, and with dignity and respect.
Please share this post to ensure that Wylie ISD knows that we demand action and real change.
Today for AAPI Heritage Month we are celebrating Yuri Kochiyama! Yuri and her family invited many civil rights activists, such as the Freedom Riders, to their home gatherings. They also became members of the Harlem Parents Committee, a grassroots organization fighting for safer streets and integrated education. In 1963, Yuri met Malcolm X and they quickly formed a friendship that would strongly influence Yuri’s political career. She later was nominated for a Nobel Peace Prize in 2005 for her endless efforts against imperialism and racism!
Today May 1st, is the first day of Asian American & Pacific Islander Heritage Month! We stand with you and send all of our love and support from the EEA!
