We had the joy of having USI join us for their annual giving back day for the fourth year in a row. Thanks to Bob and the team for helping pack 191 food boxes to go out this week. One of our superstar volunteers, Scott Bellamy, used to work for USI before he retired. We really appreciate the partnership with USI!

Another great day with our volunteers packing in record time. Everyone showed up with great attitudes to get the job done. We would 💚 it if you joined us to serve — packing or delivering or both! Message us for info about how to serve with us. Thank you to everyone who shows up to serve the community!

It doesn't matter, even if it's over 100 outside or raining, the HFTC delivery team will be out there giving lunches out in the community! This is part of the team getting ready for today’s routes. Make sure to send some 💚their way.

Don’t forget to spread the word about the Wylie ISD annual Back to School Fair on Saturday, August 3. For those who are eligible, this is a can’t miss event. There are so many of our community partners who are providing some great resources. Also, if you want to help out, you can contact Joley Martin to get information for how to serve. We 💚 Wylie!

It was all go this morning as the packing team packed two weeks worth of lunches in one session. To pack all the lunches and the weekly food boxes took 175 last week to get from the warehouse to the front door. Thank you everyone for stepping up!

Had a great time talking to Kristopher Harris about community partnerships at the Credit Union of Texas, Wylie branch. Today was member appreciation day. CUTX offer some great programs to educate with creating budgets that work, as well as building your credit score. We appreciate all they are doing to serve the community.

We had a great day with His Gracious Hands for their 7th annual golf fundraiser. Tony and Barbara Jacinto asked if we could be there to share about HFTC on the first hole at Waterview Golf Club in Rowlett. Thanks for the opportunity to spend time with you and the participants today! Make sure to check out and support the great work they are doing in the community!

Getting lunches packed this morning. It took a great team to get everything packed and ready to go. You can skip your workout if you’re packing with us! 😅

We had a great day packing. The team packed 219 food boxes in less than 30 minutes. Another huge thanks to the team from United Rentals who helped us pack today! We appreciate all the help and support from everyone who helped make this happen!

It has been an incredible and busy week at HFTC! First of all, the VBS at The Cross Church smashed their fundraising goal for us! Many thanks to everyone who gave! Then, we started packing for the summer lunches on Thursday to go out each Monday until school goes back in August. It’s not too late to serve with us by delivering lunches every Monday at 10:00 am with your family. Leave a comment if you want to know more info.

Today we had the joy of having United Rentals come to serve with us today! They helped us pack the weekly food boxes to be delivered on Wednesday, as well as getting the dental hygiene kits ready to be sent out this summer. Thank you so much for partnering to meet needs in the community!

This week, the VBS at The Cross Church is helping raise funds and awareness for the work of Hope for the Cities. The kids are learning about how to serve where they live. Also, each grade is having a competition to see who can raise the most money to help us in our work. We ❤️ and appreciate all the incredible support! Our HOPE is that many lives will be impacted through these efforts!

This week was Glen's last week serving with us after four-and-a-half years. Glen is moving out of state to be closer to the grandkids. As soon as the world shut down in March 2020, Glen stepped up to serve the community by packing meals and delivering to the community. He has faithfully served at the Redwood and Glen Knoll communities. Thank you for serving so well by showing excellence, care, and dedication to our community.

There are many reasons to eat ice cream: you think it’s delicious, you get bored, it's hot outside, it's cold outside, it's raining outside, and it was just there in the freezer. This week we had ice cream to celebrate June birthdays and to show our love to the amazing packing and delivery teams who serve so well.

Today we had the opportunity to share about poverty issues in Collin County at the Region 10 convention at Collin College, Plano Campus. In attendance were members of over one hundred school districts from North Texas. We shared about the growing needs in the community and highlighted the need for collaboration to tackle the problem head on. One of our own, Liz Garrett, did a fantastic job organizing the convention.

Starting off the week with a delivery from the North Texas Food Bank. This is just one of the steps in making sure the food boxes are ready to go by Wednesday. There's never a boring moment when you're tackling hunger issues.

This is something to think about. Even though the Northern Hemisphere has significantly lower hunger than most of the world, there are still millions of people in our country who are facing food insecurity. When we have a look at the big picture of what is happening in the world, we see that we are so blessed to have all we have. We have access to much food and resources. How can we make a difference in the world around us?

On Tuesday evening at the Wylie City Council meeting we received a check with the proceeds from the Taste of Wylie. We’re very thankful for all the love and support from the community and Wylie, TX City Hall. *Side note: it’s always fun to have the oversized checks. I wonder how it gets deposited?

A huge shout out to everyone in the community who helped with the clean up efforts after the storm. I love how we live in a community that sticks together when times are tough and reaches out to those who need a helping hand. The pictures were taken today by those who said yes to serve. Thank you!!

If you look closely enough at the first picture you will notice a hat floating in the middle of the boxes. This is Harold Robinson, AKA, Cowboy. We really appreciate Cowboy and the team coming out in the bad weather this morning to get the boxes ready for packing this afternoon!

Congratulations to all the teachers and school staff who completed another year! We were asked to do an ice cream bar this lunch time at NeSmith Elementary School in Community Independent School District to show our appreciation. Make sure to thank your teachers and school staff-they sure deserve it. Happy summer to you all! 😎

Today was the last day for the Adulting Well group from the Wylie ISD to build food boxes this school year. They have constructed close to 7,000 boxes to help us feed the community. We want to show our appreciation for all they have done by presenting them with a certificate and sharing cupcakes with them! We told them how well the boxes were put together, especially when the food boxes have to hold the weight of the food. They are all champions in, and they will be very much missed! But the group will be coming back in August! 😎
