Thanks to everyone who came out and had pizza with us at The Mitten Brewing Co. in April! We are so thankful for this gift and showing of support!

Thank you for the love you showed our April Mitten Foundation, Inc. nonprofit partner, Catherine's Health Center!

Because of your generous support of our mission (and our pizza 😉), we were able to invest nearly $3,000 in their mission to provide access to high quality, affordable, and compassionate health care for the unhoused and underserved in our neighborhoods.

Catherine's Health Center is proud to participate in the 100 in 100 campaign led by the Grand Rapids Area Coalition to End Homelessness. Multi-sector community partners are collaborating to house 100 chronically homeless residents in 100 days.

In the words of Catherine's Clinical Director, Mark Contreras, "As a community health center, Catherine's Health Center knows all too well the impact that the lack of housing has on an individual’s health. Without stable housing, minor problems become complex problems and unmet needs inevitably manifest into new and potentially life-threatening conditions. We also know that poor health causes and perpetuates homelessness. Not having access to proper healthcare undermines even the most valiant of efforts to solve homelessness."

Did you know? Catherine's recently partnered with Upcycle Bikes of Grand Rapids. We are able to give refurbished bikes a new home with our patients.

We're happy to announce Renee as our first recipient! 🚴

A huge thank you to her for helping us integrate and shape this program, and also to Upcycle Bikes for making this awesome opportunity possible for the Catherine's community.

What a night! Thank you to everyone who came out for our first storytelling event. The crowd was fun and engaging, and our storytellers absolutley blew everyone away!

The stories featured the complex work of providing services to those experiencing homelessness. More importantly, they highlighted the intentional partnerships that this work requires in order to best serve a shared population.
