Dear Lewis & Clark Families,
Welcome back for the 2023 school year! We are thrilled to welcome our new students and families, as well as our returning Trailblazers! We have an incredibly exciting year ahead of us. This year our theme is “Legends Start Here,” and we are encouraging all students to explore their part in being LC Legends!
We invite all families and students to attend our Open House on Thursday, August 17, 2023 from 5:30-6:30. During the open house you will have the opportunity to get your schedule, visit your teachers, learn about our online platforms, and learn more about being involved in Lewis & Clark Middle School. We will be serving pizza and you will have a chance to explore LC. We are looking forward to getting to know you and sharing the year ahead!

Please remember to sign up for a conference with your student’s homeroom teacher via Parent Square! Conferences are March 29th from 12:00 p.m.-3:00 p.m. and March 30th from 12:00-6:00 p.m.
This is an important way to check on your students’ progress and ensure their success in middle school. We look forward to seeing you!

Friday, March 10, 2023 TWO HOUR DELAY
Yakima School District schools are on a 2 hour delay today. No morning preschool, no morning classes at YV-TECH, bus routes 2 and 8 are on snow routes (www.YSD7.org/busroutes). Classes start exactly two hours later than normal. Buses arrive two hours later than normal. Breakfast will be available in the cafeteria for students. www.YSD7.org/status

In 8th grade social studies, students finished their colonies unit by building models of colonial houses. Students made models from the four colonial regions, plus Native American longhouses. Students were to show the features of each house that made them unique to their region.
