here is some Important information for the 2024 Memorial Cup in Yakima Washington

Black Belt and coaches meeting at 9:00am

All Black Belt (youth, adult, & seniors) kata and kobudo divisions start at 9:30

Opening ceremonies will begin at 11:15 and all under black belt divisions will begin at 11:30am. Please note, youth and adult, under blackbelt divisions, will start at 11:30am

We have been informed that Sozo Sports Complex of Yakima will be conducting youth soccer games starting at 9:00am. So please arrive 10-15 minutes earlier to get through the entrance of the sports complex.

During the tournament, we will attempt to have one ring running all little dragon and senior divisions throughout the tournament.

That's right, we are back. With good discussion, prayer, and council YSK has decided to host the twice-postponed MORRIS MACK OPEN! We are excited to work with all our friends across the Pacific Northwest to create an event where everyone can feel respected and enjoy some fun and exciting competition. A few changes this year.
Venue change: Our new venue will be the SOZO Sports Complex of Yakima. They have a large facility that will house our matted rings, seat our wonderful spectators, and is easy to find.
Registration: We want to thank Shihan Larry and Marty Zable for their sacrifice and commitment to the Central Washington Karate Championships and the Morris Mack Open. For many decades behind the scenes, they have worked with Hanshi Morris Mack, Shihan Kara Mack, Shihan Pete Hobbs, Sensei Chris Blas, Sensei Dawn Holbrook, myself, and many others to help these tournaments run smoothly and without a hitch. Unfortunately, due to health reasons, they will not be able to continue their important role at this year's event, but send their huge support as we move forward into the future. We wish them well and a bright future. So as times change, we change with them. All registration for this tournament will be online. We encourage all competitors to register early, so the morning of the event can run as smoothly as possible. There will be no deadline to register and no penalty for registering on the morning of the tournament. But again, we are ENCOURAGING all competitors to register early.
We are working diligently to get the registration link with instructions, tournament rules, hotel information, and a map to the venue all on the YSK website by February 1st. Here is a link for anyone interested in the upcoming Gasshuku training. This year the event will be in Newport Oregon the first weekend in August. Attendees must provide their own accommodations and meals. Sensei Elida Wagner has rented a vacation home there which may still have beds at a cost.
