We recently acquired a collection of RIAA certified albums. The difference between these and self framed or artist signed pieces is that these are certified authentic with the RIAA hologram. Authentication or certification from a real, well known and respected entity highly enhances the value of an item.

Abduction of the Sabine Woman by Dr. Seuss. A hand embellished print, estate edition. 56"X56", only 195 were made and sold world wide. From the gallery, unframed, this was a $5,495 print. We purchased a framed version and had it authenticated by the estate representative. Unique and will be a conversation piece for someone.

Two vintage (1996), mint, Meda office chairs by Alberto Meda / Vitra. These chairs retailed for $2,695 each. The leather was very soft and durable. The quality was extremely high. The seller included these with 5 other items they needed out of their house quickly. We love buying Italian made and designed products.

1950's: A message was sent to us and it read as follows: "I know this might be a strange request, but we have a case of unopened tennis ball cans, would you buy them?". We asked for a picture and sent an offer. 1952 can, and a case of them still filled with balls, unopened. Yes we are interested!

When thinking about a sales price, especially for vintage electronics, video game systems, musical instruments, higher end road bikes, electronics such as home theater or multi channel audio, and other similar items being sold, ask your self: When was the last time it was serviced? Do I really know if everything works as it should (meaning a pro looked it over)? If not, does one really know the condition? Or if there is some type of damage? Lack of maintenance (cleaning, care condition), impacts the value. For instance, let's look at a guitar. Is it stored in a humidity controlled case - meaning a wood acoustic guitar is at proper hydration level? Are you sure the neck is not worn or warped. Are the electronics inside the guitar functioning properly, corroded, or other? Is the guitar producing static, pops, etc. Again all things that would impact the price. Last. When you compare your item to an items being sold online, on etsy or ebay, they all guarantee a buyers ability to return the item for up 10+ days. They post a condition and can be held accountable for that. Are you offering all of that? Realist price setting is key to selling your items, unless they are extremely rare or valuable!

I had to share this, and it will relate back to what we like to buy. A friend on the West Coast played and managed recording secessions on Michael Jackson's Thriller album. In this video he shows the union musicians contract for 3 of the recording secessions, which include Eddie Van Halen, Greg Phillinganes, and him (Anthony Marinelli). Pretty cool.
