✨COLOR CORRECTION✨
By adding warm tones, we can bring life back to these brows!
Cool tones start to show through brow tattoos when the pigment begins to “break down” in the skin. There are a couple of reasons why pigment fades over time but mainly it is due to sun exposure. It’s so important to keep your brows protected long term which can easily be done with daily spf and keeping your tattoo out of direct sunlight as much as possible🖤

✨BROW HEALING✨
Its important to remember that brows take time to heal. They can look a little scary at times or even look barely there. I tell my clients it can be an emotional roller coaster the first week because the brows aren’t quite how we would like them.
For example:

Days 1-3➡️ bold, dark, saturated. The color will seem very “filled in” with a possible slight redness behind them from freshly tattooed skin.

Days 4-7➡️ flaky, light, splotchy. At this point, the color will be very light and feel like the pigment didn’t heal well.
❗️Even though it takes about 7-10 days for the outer layer of skin to heal, it’s takes a good 4-8 weeks for the under lying layers of skin to heal. With this healing, color will slowly return to the surface.
❗️Brows lighten around 30% lighter than when originally tattooed.
❗️Touch ups can be scheduled after 2 months have passed since last session.

✨When to get your brows TOUCHED UP VS when to WAIT✨
This is a question I get a lot and it’s probably the hardest to answer as every client is looking for something different. However, there are a couple of things we as permanent makeup artists look for when touching up faded tattoos.
1️⃣ FADED - How faded are the brows? We like to see the brows at least 50% lighter than when originally healed.
2️⃣ COLOR - Is the color dull/ashy? As long as you’re following the long term aftercare (ie protecting from the sun) that should prolong the need for a touch up, however if the color is looking dull, a color correction is great to boost the color.
3️⃣ SATURATION - how much pigment is in the skin? The more times you’ve gotten your tattoo touched up, the more time you can go in between sessions before needing another touch up. That is because pigment is layered in to the skin. Frequent touch ups means over saturation and therefore not enough room in the skin for new pigment. Color corrections can be done however it is a temporary fix.
