Sometimes a transaction seems to happen by serendipity. My client was moving from the west coast to be closer to his brother’s family in Portland. Today’s timely event brought in experts for their perspectives on market value, insurability, and resiliency action plans for coastal real estate in Casco Bay as climate change escalates. After this winter’s recent storms, it’s more important than ever to better understand and prepare for the impacts on our coastal properties.
I spotted this red fox slink out from under our shed this afternoon. It appears and is acting very healthy. After a little research I learned that the best thing I can do as a homeowner is to be sure I’m not inadvertently feeding or sheltering wildlife. So, while we should try to restrict access to beneath the shed, I also learned that January through March is breeding season. If this is a momma fox, I’d hate to disturb her new den. I’ll monitor the activity for now to determine the next best steps.
