I am so proud of myself. Baby skipped a nap yesterday so last night he was up like every two hours and couldn't settle. So, I was up too. I woke up tired and really not in the mood. I decided to sleep through the morning nap instead of doing the workout but after he went to sleep for his 2nd nap, I got myself ready to workout. So happy I did. I am committed to these next 7 days. Please hold me accountable to that! No excuses. It felt so good to workout with @shauntfitness again and hilarious as well. He straight up kicked out the dude that was tired at the end lol.
These two wonderful women showed up to CIZE for 4-weeks straight and in that time sweated their booty's off, laughed tons and learned 12 eight counts of choreography. I will never forget this day. Ever! The day I became a mom. The day I pushed through the craziest pain I had ever experienced in my life. This video is such a gem. You can see when the contraction comes in as y breathing changes. A huge reminder that I can overcome anything. Mamas! We are warriors! There was a time when I spent all my weekends at dance studios in NYC. Taking classes, going to dance socials, sweating it up and then back to work on Monday. That kind of lifestyle is behind me for now but that's what I love about Beachbody On Demand. I can easily access a professional, sweat-inducing dance class from my computer, phone ,or iPad and keep the dance alive. And now I get to share my love of dance with my little guy right in my home. ๐ฉ๐ป๐๐ถ๐ป

Guys! Do you see my face? I'm hurting. This is my first Shift Shop workout. It's a new program by Beachbody. It's also the hardest I've worked out since having the baby. I needed this! To prove to myself that I am strong. That I can do it. When you're in the throws of new mommyhood everything is new but you doubt yourself so much. Everything you're doing feels like new. Impossible. Different. Today, I proved to myself that although I'm different, I'm still capable of so much. Just gotta quiet the voices of self doubt!
She's too modest to tell you how amazing she is but @polishedfitness1 teaches a crazy, extra, fun CIZE class at the YMCA in the Bronx. Omg! When they are saying "goodbye" to a Round, she asks her members to come up with a theme and they work really hard to be camera ready. It was so fun. The theme was "50 shades of grey" because the song is so sexy. Oh and She makes Shakeology protein balls for them as a snack. Loved it. Oh and I'm the super extra one in the CIZE shirt. Mama let loose this morning!!!
Let's talk plateaus. When you start a program, you'll often see quick gains in strength or significant weight loss. But once your body gets used to working out every day, you might experience a brief pause in progress. We call this a plateau. If you're experiencing this, don't sweat it! Stay the course, and you will see results. Already in day 15!!!! Time to enjoy the beautiful day with my baby.
Today's workout is active recovery. Not as exciting as yesterday's Dynamic Strength. A challenge but fun. And because I had done it already, it didn't feel as difficult!
Day 5. โ My former clean and clear workout space is nowfilled with baby things. I don't always get much sleep. Some days my son doesn't get the memo that mommy wants to workout while he naps. Other times, I have to cut it short or nurse in between. Most days, I have at least 5 reasons why I can easily skip my workout. However, I won't. Because I know it will make me happy, give me energy, and momma has goals! So we make it work. And you can too. FYI, the tiny love activity center for the rock and play I amazeballs. Hours of entertainment.
Today's workout was Body Beast Lucky 7. A total body workout and just 23 minutes long. Loved this one.
When @sweetflete battles you to do a routine you did with her before while on a cruise and she shouts you out on the gram, you have to deliver. I remembered the routine so I did the CIZE IT UP portion 4x. Basically with CIZE, you learn a full choreography and then at the end you put it together. You do the routine 3x at the end. So I did it 12x. My chest is burning and my heart is beating like crazy but I'M HAPPY!!!! So happy to dance, sweat, and workout like I haven't in awhile. Nothing beats dance. Countdown to Dominican Republic starts now.
No sugar coating anything here. You're right, it's not easy to workout as a mom. You either can't get to the gym, your fav class is held in the middle of baby's bedtime, or if you try to workout at home, someone or something is demanding your attention. None of that will change. We have to. We need to make the effort for ourselves. A little exercise can change up your mood, break up the day, and give you some much needed TLC. Don't put your health last. Your family is better off when mommy is healthy and happy. Join me in my upcoming challenge group so we can laugh at all the mishaps of finding that "perfect" time to workout. Baby boy woke up mid workout. I decided to see if he would sit calmly and watch me complete it and OMG!!! The laughter ๐๐๐. It was super entertaining for him. He finds my dancing funny. Crazy thing is, I taught CIZE LIVE and did the at-home workouts while pregnant so he knows these moves. Mommas ... we can do it. ๐๐๐ Do you workout with your baby?
Omg. I decided to throw in some CIZE as a measuring stick to see how my cardio is improving. Whoa! This is hard and reminded me of my test group days when I lost 12lbs in 30 days and rediscovered my abs and my love for dance. I thought I was going to do Max 30 after Yoga Retreat but I might reconsider. Still up in the air. This is just too much fun! Best way to lose the weight. Dance it out!
