With summer temperatures going up and not coming down any time soon, it is important to keep the safety of our pets in mind. Before walking your dog, place the back of your hand against the pavement and hold it there for 7 seconds. If it's uncomfortable for you, it is uncomfortable for your dog. When the air temperature is 70 degrees, asphalt temperatures can reach up to 125 degrees! Did you know that at 125 degrees, skin destruction can occur in less than 60 seconds?

We hit triple digit temperatures yesterday! We wanted to post a friendly reminder that it is not ok to leave your dog in your car, even for a second with temperatures this high! If you see a pet in need or have concerns call your local animal control ❤️

Friends, be watchful when letting your pets out, especially early in the morning or at twilight! Coyotes can and will jump fences.
Because coyotes typically breed between February and March, they may be more likely to come into close contact with people and pets. Consider keeping your pets on a leash, even in a fenced yard, and remember that pets should be supervised while outdoors at every time of year.
Spring is almost here! As the flowers bloom, don't forget that lilies can be toxic to cats - just a few nibbles on the stems, leaves, and flowers can cause kidney damage. Be safe if you bring a bouquet indoors!
