LAS VEGAS - I am coming for you

I am so excited to head to Las Vegas again this week to join the Travel Agent Forum.

At first, I didn't know if I would like this city, but it always depends on what memories you make in places. Last year during Travel Agent Forum in Las Vegas, I made some awesome memories, and that is why I can't wait to go back. I also think it's a fun place, and there are so many things to do and to experience ... oh and to eat (THAT IS HOW YOU GET ME).

Barcelona, you have my heart for sure. A trip I will never forget—such a unique and impressive city. Seeing Sagrada Familia in real life, it's something so special, something you will never forget.

Besides Sagrada Familia, I liked seeing Tibidabo best. I don't know what it was, but it just blew me away. Probably, because I haven't heard about it before, and then you visit, and it's this special moment where you are just mesmerized by the beauty of what you are looking at.

I have about 20 clients heading on their spring break vacation soon. I always am super nervous when I have so many people traveling at the same time. The weeks before, my brain is going 1000, and I am trying to think of every detail, confirming reservations, checking on flights, and creating final itineraries. Let's talk fees - again, real talk is happening.

Recently I decided not to quote anymore without charging a fee. I actually decided that a while ago, but I kept making exceptions, and sadly that ended in lots of lost business.

The work I put into researching and creating a quote for you is worth being compensated for.

I don't just quote random things, I really care, personalize and put a lot of effort into every single quote.

It's very draining as a travel agent to put so much time into finding the right vacation for someone, then sending the quote out just to be ghosted afterward.

Not ok.

Be ready to put a deposit down if you reach out to me, and please be respectful of my time.

What I am currently working on ....

Travel Agents are experiencing something that is called wave season right now. It is the busiest time of the year for us because people start planning their year after the holidays. And trust me, it can get messy.

Between sending out many quotes, I also need to take care of group trips that are planned for this year and individual travels that are coming up soon, as well as my clients in destination.

I wanted to share a little insight into what I am working on right now:

I was able to celebrate their soft opening in April already on a business trip and came back early December on a family vacation.

Let me tell you - I am all for the food there. It's on another level. The Pizza .... oh my ... I can't get a Pizza like the one at their restaurant La Luce anywhere around me in the US.

Their mexican restaurant Maxal ... I don't even have words for it. It's a whole fine dining experience - in an all-inclusive resort. Their chef has worked at the best restaurant in Mexico and the second best restaurant in North America.

My husband was so skeptical when I told him all about it but then he experienced it and he was over the moon. You gotta experience it yourself 🥰

I am so looking forward to another very exciting year of business for Fernweh Travel Experiences.

I have many trips planned already, and I am working on so much more. Not just for my clients, it will also be a busy year for me with traveling again.

One of my highlights this year will be a destination wedding in Puerto Vallarta in November that I will attend myself.

I wanted to take the chance here to say thank you to everyone. To my clients, that are becoming my friends. And to my friends, my cheerleaders who always have time to listen to me and who get excited when I get excited. You know who you are and I am beyond grateful for all of you.

Last week I had the honor of taking care of my clients' flight to Melbourne. My sweet clients are an elderly couple from my neighboring town who wanted to visit their daughter in Australia for the first time. They decided to take this very long trip from Washington D.C. to Melbourne in first class. I helped them get the best price for their journey and saved them a total of $4000 by bundling their flight with a short stay in a hotel. As a new mom during peak covid, I had a lady once that was super upset about me being too slow during security. I had my baby on my arm (I had to take her out of the carrier), and I had to take the stroller apart to be able to fit through the scanner. And I was working really hard to be as fast as possible, but this person behind me was super impatient. Just rude. Like seriously? How can you blame a mom for a baby? (That happened in Vienna btw, IYKYK)
