EMPLOYEE SPOTLIGHT:

This week we have Craig Wagner.

Craig has been with Dietz & Bluett since May 2023, specializing as a producer in commercial policies. He finds his role both challenging and rewarding, particularly when navigating the nuances of various carriers to find the right policy for each customer.

The most challenging part of Craig's job is dealing with the multitude of choices and policies from different carriers. However, the office atmosphere and the resources available at Dietz & Bluett motivate him to come back every day.

Craig holds a property and casualty license and attended York College. His career path includes owning an industrial supply business, transitioning into industrial packaging, and taking early retirement due to supply chain issues. Lee approached him during this time, and Craig decided to embark on a new career in insurance.

In his free time, Craig enjoys various types of fishing, hunting, and working on cars. He also loves spending time with his wife of 24 years and their two Maine C**n cats.

It doesn't matter whether your car is red or some other flashy color. The color doesn’t actually factor into your auto insurance costs. The price of your auto policy is based on many factors, such as car make, model, body type, engine size, and the age of the vehicle, as well as the car’s sticker price, the cost to repair it, its overall safety record and the likelihood of theft. Insurers also take into account the age, driving record, and sometimes the credit history of the driver.

EMPLOYEE SPOTLIGHT:

Next up is John Dietz.

John has been with Dietz & Bluett since the fall of 2017, serving as a Producer and Account Executive. He specializes in working with clients in the hospitality field—restaurants, taverns, and liquor liability coverages–leveraging his culinary background.

John holds a producer's license in personal, commercial, and workers' compensation insurance. He attended Radford University for two years before completing his formal education at the Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park New York in 1999. After almost 20 years as a professional Chef working at restaurants in York, PA and all over the country, including the Left Bank Restaurant, where he met his wife (Megan) of 18 years, to Columbia South Carolina, Wyoming, and Hershey, Pennsylvania; he sought a career with more flexible hours to allow him to spend time with family.

Outside of work, John enjoys spending time with his wife, and twin daughters (Parker and Carson) as a dedicated Dance Dad and softball coach. His favorite hobby is upland bird hunting with his dog (Flynn), and he enjoys flyfishing and cooking for his family.

This week we have Tyler Abel.

Tyler is the newest member of Dietz & Bluett, joining the team just two months ago. In his dual role as a service and personal line producer, Tyler is dedicated to helping clients find the best insurance policies.

The most challenging part of Tyler's job is learning about various carriers and determining the best fit for each client. His passion for helping people, problem-solving, and the supportive team at Dietz & Bluett keeps him motivated every day.

Tyler holds a degree in Mental Health Counseling from Lancaster Bible College and has experience in criminal justice and insurance, with licenses in property, casualty, life, and health. He was introduced to Dietz & Bluett by Lee, drawn by the company's strong community reputation.

Outside of work, Tyler enjoys the outdoors, spending time with his family, BBQing, and watching sports. He and his wife, Jocelyn, have a very active four-year-old who keeps them on their toes!

This week we have one of the namesakes of the business, Dave Bluett.

Dave has been with Dietz & Bluett since 2006 joining shortly after Lee started. As an Agency Principal with a focus on financial management, HR, and personal lines departments, Dave handles billing, finances, and ensuring team alignment.

The most challenging part of Dave's job is keeping everyone on the same page in an ever-changing industry. Despite these challenges, he is motivated by the dynamic nature of the work, the growth of the business, and keeping clients satisfied.

Dave holds a P&C license and has a background in math and actuarial science from Elizabethtown College. His career path included roles at T. Rowe Price, and various underwriting and claims positions, which eventually led him to join and help create Dietz & Bluett.

Outside of work, Dave enjoys family activities, playing tennis and golf, and coaching his youngest son's baseball team. He has two children: an 18-year-old heading to Millersville University and a 15-year-old baseball player.

Before joining us, Kathy owned several businesses, including a restaurant and a pretzel company. She joined Dietz & Bluett after retiring briefly, realizing she missed working.

Outside of work, Kathy loves gardening and spending time with her two Labrador retrievers. She enjoys family time with her four sons, nine grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren as well as her husband of 54 years.
