SAFARI SATURDAY! Did you know that giraffes spend most of their day eating? But they only drink every few days. This is because they get most of their hydration through the plants they eat. Good thing because they are most vulnerable to attack when they are drinking. Join us in beautiful remote Kenya. Serve the Lord and see His amazing creation. APPLY TODAY!! We are having a WONDERFUL WEDNESDAY here on the hill. Getting everything ready for the 2024 school year to start next week. We hope you have a WONDERFUL DAY!!

THANKFUL TUESDAY! At the start of another year, we want to take time to THANK all those who support this ministry to children in many ways. We THANK those churches who support us and provide the opportunity for us to share. We THANK the businesses that have invested in this ministry in various ways. We THANK the sponsors who faithfully support the children. We THANK the Prayer Team for their hours of prayer. We THANK our board and volunteers who walk with us to make this possible. We THANK those who have traveled with us to serve. We THANK those who have given to this ministry in ANY WAY. We THANK GOD for touching each of you to work with us to help "the least of these". May God bless you all abundantly!! We pray you will remain with us through 2024 and beyond. God is doing so much!! THANKS for being obedient to His call.

2023, a year in review. What an AWESOME GOD we serve. What he is doing at New Beginnings is a miracle. Check out this past year! From staff changes, vision changes, lives saved, lives changed, there is just so much that we stand in AWE of His Majesty. We thank all the staff and supporters. The last week of 2023 gives us so much to be thankful for. We have seen God do MANY miracles this past year. Even the fact that most of the children are currently visiting with family for the holiday is a miracle. Finding a safe family for many of these children requires hours of investigation and follow-up. Those who remain with us at this time are just not at the point of releasing them for unsupervised visits. They had a special Christmas with us at New Beginnings. God's gift to Simeon was truly precious and touching. Yet Simeon is just the embodiment of all of every nation, race, and culture who are seeking God's salvation. God's salvation, as Luke loves to remind us again and again, is for all people! What's more, God's light has dawned. Let's greet that dawn and share it with others.

Simeon took him [Jesus] in his arms and praised God, saying: "Sovereign Lord, as you have promised, you now dismiss your servant in peace. For my eyes have seen your salvation, which you have prepared in the sight of all people, a light for revelation to the Gentiles and for glory to your people Israel." — Luke 2:28-32

Even with just a few children remaining, we have had a fantastic week here on the hill. What a blessing this place is to these children who have nowhere else to go. Thanks for making this a Merry Little Christmas for them. We are also very blessed to be able to say that the rest are celebrating with family this year. A GREAT accomplishment. When we were kids, Christmas morning meant that getting up early was fun! For the disciples, dawn was the end of a hard and discouraging night — a night of work and no fish! Dawn broke; they knew that the night had been a waste and that they would go to shore empty handed, tired, and hungry. Then Jesus gave them the gift of surprise: an enormous catch of fish and a breakfast on the beach with their risen Lord, as seen a few verses later. [1] Peter was a fisherman. Jesus had originally called Peter with a large catch of fish. [2] Jesus called Peter to ministry again with a large catch of fish. Yet most significant at this point in the story, a fisherman got a miraculously large catch of fish but left it as nothing for the sheer joy of being in the presence of his risen Lord. Peter left everything to be with Jesus! What about us?

At dawn Jesus was standing on the beach, but the disciples couldn't see who he was. He called out, "Fellows, have you caught any fish?"
"No," they replied.
Then he said, "Throw out your net on the right-hand side of the boat, and you'll get some!" So they did, and they couldn't haul in the net because there were so many fish in it.
Then the disciple Jesus loved said to Peter, "It's the Lord!" When Simon Peter heard that it was the Lord, he put on his tunic (for he had stripped for work), jumped into the water, and headed to shore. — John 21:4-7

I've always been amazed at how God chose to place his Son into our world. He could have done it any way he wanted. But he chose this way � to enter the world in difficult times under difficult circumstances as a helpless infant who must be cared for by parents who were vulnerable to so many frailties. Yet in spite of the challenges that lay ahead and the bewildering mystery that confronted them, Joseph and Mary along with everyone around them were caught up in the great joy of this new child. Thank God for such new hope!

While [Joseph and Mary] were [in Bethlehem], the time came for the baby to be born, and she gave birth to her firstborn, a son. She wrapped him in cloths and placed him in a manger, because there was no room for them in the inn. — Luke 2:6-7
