Did you know that all students need to write a resume and interview for their position, before coming to JA BizTown? To help them with the process, we are creating videos, with tips to show students what a successful interview looks like! We've enlisted the help of Maeve Scheler, to show the difference between a good interview and a not so good interview. Maeve certainly is a great role model for this project! When she visited JA BizTown two years ago, she interviewed and was chosen for the Mayor! This is just one more way we are enhancing our JA BizTown experience!

Doug presented JA Our Region, which introduces 4th grade students to entrepreneurship and explains how entrepreneurs use resources to produce goods and services. Students learn the fundamental tasks performed by a business owner and learn about business profit and loss as well as revenue and payments. Doug says, "I have enjoyed teaching Our Region at Mooreland Elementary. I incorporate having the students create a business and encourage them to dream of being an entrepreneur and run their own business. We ask them to present their businesses to the class to share the creativity and what they have learned in the class." Thank you Doug, for inspiring the next generation of entrepreneurs!

Our Story
JA programs help prepare young people for the real world by showing them how to generate wealth and effectively manage it, how to create jobs which make their communities more robust, and how to apply entrepreneurial thinking to the workplace. Students put these lessons into action and learn the value of contributing to their communities.
JA's unique approach allows volunteers from the community to deliver our curriculum while sharing their experiences with students. Embodying the heart of JA, our 7,000 volunteers transform the key concepts of our lessons into a message that inspires and empowers students to believe in themselves, showing them that they can make a difference in the world.
Junior Achievement's unique delivery system provides the training, materials, and support necessary to bolster the chances for student success. We help arrange for business people and local community leaders to visit classrooms a few times or throughout the semester. They volunteer to share their workforce experience with students, all while teaching sound economic principles and reinforcing class curricula.
