๐Ÿ†˜๏ธโ€ผ๏ธURGENTโ€ผ๏ธ๐Ÿ†˜๏ธ
Bertha and Petunia are 2 sweet little potbelly pigs that are redlisted at the Devore shelter!

They can be killed at anytime! Please consider adopting, or sharing!!!

If you can adopt, we can help coordinate, pull, and transport!

New intake incoming!
This sweet little boy was picked up as a stray by animal control, and nobody claimed him. As you can see, he has scurs (incomplete horns resulting from being disbudded), that need to be cut to prevent growing into his face.
We will be picking him up tomorrow, and once he is all cleared, he will be available for adoption. We have several other goats looking for homes as well. Adopt don't shop!

We apologize for being absent the last couple of days, and we appreciate all of you reaching out with kind words regarding Jackie's medical emergency. We have been trying to collect ourselves to make this post, but it's been a hard few days, and the update we have is heartbreaking...
Our sweet Jackie didn't make it. ๐Ÿ’”
The vet went in to do her c-section, and said it was like nothing she's ever seen before. She was full of about 4 quarts of fluid, and the vets best guess is liver disease. The baby had also already been dead for at least 3 days (according to eye and hoof degradation), and was way too big to ever have been passed.
The doctor said that fluids aside, Jackie seemed to do very well while they were performing surgery, and she remained stable the whole time. They were finishing her final stitch, when all of a sudden her heart gave out. They tried to resuscitate, with no luck.
The vet said her insides were like nothing she's ever seen, and something was very wrong with her. We requested a necropsy, and are waiting for the results.

We can't thank those of you that have donated so far enough. We are so sorry that this story didn't have a happier ending. We are heartbroken, exhausted, and still left with an outstanding bill...
Please consider making a tax deductible donation in honor of Jackie.

Jackie and her baby are being cremated together. Rest easy sweet souls. You were so loved.

If you have been watching our story over the last 24 hours, then you know that Jackie went into labor. Well unfortunately, things didn't naturally move forward, and she was rushed to the vet. The baby was dead before Jackie went into labor, and as a result, she didn't dilate or progress like she should have. Upon vet examination, it was determined that there was no way the baby was going to fit, and Jackie needs a C-section...
This procedure starts at $2,300, and we desperately need your help! There is a chance there is another baby in there that is still alive, and even if there isn't, we need to do everything we can to save Jackie. She won't survive with this dead baby left inside of her.
Any amount helps, also please like and share to spread the word! ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿปโค๏ธ

We had our first casualty of the heat wave today, and we are heartbroken...
She had shown zero signs of heat stress, and the run has misters, fans, ice packs, shade, a kiddie pool, and we bring out watermelon twice a day. She was fine last night when everyone was shut in the coop. This morning, when we went to let everyone out, she didn't come running. She was still perched, which was odd, so we pulled her down and brought her inside. She was super lethargic, didn't want to eat or drink, and just wanted to sleep. We syringed some water and poultry drench, gave meloxicam, and placed in front of the ac. She passed away within 30 minutes. We don't know what more we could have done, other than bringing her inside right from the start....
All 6 of our silkies are now indoors, along with 2 others that showed signs of heat stress a few days ago. Please Winter, come sooner...
Rest easy sweet lil' Floof. โค๏ธ

Please be considerate this 4th of July. ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿป
Not everyone enjoys fireworks... They can be extremely traumatizing to both people and animals. Just a thought, consider making a difference instead!

Us, as well as many other amazing rescue organizations, have wishlists on Chewy where you can buy our residents a bag of food! https://www.chewy.com/g/reject-ranch_b124022571
We understand times are hard, and if you are not in a position to donate, please consider liking commenting and sharing.

If you have pets of your own, stay with them this year. Make sure they are chipped and have collars. More animals go missing tomorrow than any other day of the year. They flood into shelters, and to make room, animals are euthanized. Be a responsible pet parent.

Little Cinder had a trip to the vet today.
She has had diahrrea for the last couple days, and although she has been acting totally normal, 3 days is too long!
She was given an IV with some added Vitamin B, and we are waiting for her f***l results to come in tomorrow. We suspect that it is Coccidia, brought on by weather stress. This fast onset heatwave is really kicking everyone's butt's. ๐Ÿฅต
If you are able to contribute in any way to her surprise medical expenses, we would be eternally grateful.

Huge thank you to for taking such good care of her!

Summer has come in swinging this year, and let me just say, I miss winter already! ๐Ÿฅต
All the animals have kiddie pools, ice packs, and frozen treats. The chickens however could definitely use some fans! We have updated our Amazon Wishlist, if anybody wants to help the animals stay cool this summer. Any donations towards our watermelon budget would also be greatly appreciated! With the help of Janet Shinn and Little Orphan Hammies, we were able to save these little kune kune piggies just in the knick of time. They were living in deplorable conditions, and we're going to be sent to slaughter. We are so happy to have them safely here with us! There are 2 neutered boys, and the little girlie will need to be spayed. If you are able to contribute towards their transport and vet bill, it would be greatly appreciated! They will be available for adoption. ๐Ÿฝโค๏ธ

Everybody loves their watermelon over here (except the cows)! A great hot day treat for feathered and furry critters alike. ๐Ÿ๐Ÿ–๐Ÿ“

It's supposed to be a hot couple of days! ๐ŸŒกโ˜€๏ธ
All the animals have pools, ice water, and plenty of shade. Frozen fruits and veggies make great mid day treats!
Remember to check on your outdoor animals every couple hours. A knocked over water bucket, could be life or death!

Have you seen anything so sweet?! ๐Ÿ˜
The good news is that these 2 are fast friends!
The bad news is that the shelter had the new boy mislabeled, and he is actually a farm pig. The only reason this is bad news, is that our hope that they would get adopted out together, is unlikely. Most people looking to adopt a potbelly, aren't interested in a farm pig...
They are both eating solid food, and are most of the way litter box trained (give it another day or 2).
If you are interested in adopting one, or BOTH, please dm us! Home check, adoption contract, and adoption fee required. ๐Ÿทโค๏ธ๐Ÿท

This little piggie was found in someone's backyard, drinking from their pool. They brought him to the shelter, and nobody claimed him. They contacted us, and we knew it was meant to be. Piggies shouldn't be alone, and he is the same age as Mouse!
It's been a crazy couple weeks of pig rescues, with so many lives saved. With that comes a lot of expenses though, and this little one would add to that. If you are in a position to be able to donate, Mouse and this little boy would be so grateful! We just know they are going to be besties. ๐Ÿทโค๏ธ๐Ÿท
