River Valley Estates Senior Living and Memory Care
River Valley Estates is proud to serve seniors in Yuma by setting the bar and providing exceptional care in our assisted living community.
Through Personal Connections and our Ageless Dream program, we strive to improve our resident's lives each day. Breaking ground Winter of 2017, River Valley Estates will be Mission Senior Living's newest senior living and memory care community.
Does anyone want to guess what we’re preparing for?
Wrong answers only!
We have Sandi’s Social every first Wednesday of each month at 2:00 p.m. with our Administrator. Sandi takes time out of her busy schedule to come up with a delicious dessert that she makes herself for our residents and team members. On the menu for today was a chocolate dump cake paired with vanilla ice cream. Needless to say, everyone’s plate was clean!
Thank you Sandi!!
A few more photos of today’s fun!

It was a good day to play Paradise Casino!
For our monthly Social with Sandi, our administrator made our residents a homemade “Catch A Husband Cake”! Residents enjoyed the cool cake covered in coconut. Some of us protested the ‘catch a husband’ part, but the cake was good. 😊Thank you Sandi!
The day has finally arrived. We got to cuddle the kitties!!! These are our devoted volunteers for the Humane Society of Yuma and we love spending time with our new friends. Look at tiny Toliver!❤️🐶🐾
Thank you for sharing your plants with us Kay! 🪴🌱❤️
Today’s Out to Lunch Bunch was at Lutes Casino, one of our resident’s favorite lunch spots. We had great food, great service, and a great time.

We want to give Gary a giant WELCOME BACK!
Chef Robert is constantly keeping us on our toes! Today he gave us a cooking, (or perhaps preparation is a better word), demonstration on how to make sushi rolls! We know that you’re all quite jealous because we also got to taste his AMAZING creations. We had Salmon Rolls, California Rolls, and Spicy Tuna Rolls. 🍱🍣
Thank you Chef for your time, instruction, and great food as always!
Today we caught Matthew, one of our cooks, handing out long stemmed roses to the ladies, “just to make them smile”.
We appreciate you Matthew!
We also caught Amy taking everyone’s blood pressure during our Blood Pressure Clinic with Enhabit Home Health!
Our dedicated volunteers were busy at the Humane Society of Yuma again! This time we cut and stuffed empty toilet paper rolls for cat enrichment.

Today’s Show and Tell brought us Arlene’s Flower Basket box that was hand crafted by her daughter over FIFTY years ago! The detail in it is absolutely stunning.
Meanwhile Pat shared an article from The Yuma Sun about her and her late husband, Frank. Pat and Frank were Yuma’s Citizens of the Year in 2008! They were nominated from different people all over Yuma County for buying, repairing, cleaning, and donating over 250 vacuums to different charities in Yuma. They were also active volunteers for different organizations in Yuma.
We love hearing each resident’s stories, asking questions, and taking that stroll down memory lane with them.
Thank you for sharing with us today ladies!
What will you bring to our next Show & Tell?!
Happy Birthday Don!
To celebrate we want to extend an incredibly huge THANK YOU to Ashley with Shine Photo Arizona and Tracy with Horsin Around Photo Booth for the connection!
Ashley came to River Valley Estates and made our beautiful residents feel like movie stars for the day! 📸🤩❤️
Here’s a sneak peek at the results.
What’s for dinner is the eternal question in life!
Our chef made homemade Swedish meatballs, rice pilaf, and steamed vegetables.
Once a month our residents have a reserved time to sit down with Chef Robert and our Administrator Sandi. This time allows the residents to bring up concerns about happenings in the community, food they enjoy, things they want to see on the menu, or any other issues or compliments they may have. We encourage all of our residents to attend our monthly Town Hall and Food Committee Meetings for this one on one time with our Chef and Administrator!
Calling all small businesses and crafters:
