Baton Rouge's Catholic community joins national celebration of faith as pilgrimage group comes to town BATON ROUGE — A Catholic pilgrimage stopped at multiple churches in Baton Rouge on Friday as part of its journey to 65 Roman Catholic dioceses across the country.

Many of our parishioners attended and participated in the National Eucharistic pilgrimage from Sacred Heart church to the Cathedral on June 7. Please post your pictures in the comments.

We have reserved a bus for this event. It will transport us to Sacred Heart, the Cathedral and back to Zachary. A Grab and Go Breakfast and a lite Lunch at the Cathedral. What is the Eucharist Revival ?
A survey found that only 31% of Catholics believe the Eucharist is the Body, Blood, Soul and Divinity of Our Lord, Jesus.
To address this, the Bishops of America set out on a three year plan to teach the faithful about the Eucharist.
We are in year two, culminating in a National Eucharistic Congress in July.

Pilgrimage -The Holy Eucharist will go on a pilgrimage through 4 routes crisscrossing the United States;
the Eucharist will come to St. Joseph's Cathedral in Baton Rouge June 6-7
the 4 routes will culminate at the National Eucharistic Congress
The 10th National Eucharistic Congress: July 17 - 21, 2024
- A life changing event will take place in Indianapolis Indiana.
The Fête-Dieu du Mississippi: August 14 - 15, 2024
- The Host will travel down the Mississippi River in a boat with an 80' tall Monstrance from Baton Rouge to New Orleans
