🌉🌉🌉LONG BIEN BRIDGE (Vietnamese: Cầu Long Biên) is part of Hanoi Old Quarter. The bridge is about 2km from Hoan Kiem Lake and was designed by the Daydé & Pillé company, the same one that also built the Eiffel Tower in Paris.

is a witness to the resilience of Hanoi in the two resistance wars as well as the dramatic changes of this city in the new epoch.

Opposed to Vietnam’s traffic system, the bridge’s direction of transportation means is on the left rather than the right, which is very common in European countries, typically France.

The Hanoi Train Street is in Vietnam's Old Quarter. It is a narrow street in the city center, with thin dwellings on each side and residences, cafés, and train lines running straight down the middle.

You may take in the breathtaking sight of the train arriving and blasting its horn to warn people to move out of the way. As it goes down the alleyway, you can feel the wind and hear the engine roar.

26-year-old Ly hadn’t been able to hug her sister since she was a teenager.

Ly grew up in a remote village where life is hard and opportunities are scarce. When she was 16, an acquaintance offered her a job in China with a dignified wage, enough money to pull her family out of extreme poverty. Ly leapt at the chance.

But Ly’s acquaintance was a human trafficker who sold her into slavery as soon as they crossed the border. She spent the next decade deprived of her freedom and the love of her family.

Ly returned to Vietnam this month and embraced her sister through a haze of joyful tears. But her sheer happiness at their reunion was tarnished by grief when she learned that both her parents had passed away in the ten years she was trafficked.

We cannot erase the pain that Ly has endured, but thanks to everyone who has donated to Blue Dragon’s Emergency Appeal, Ly will be able to heal with her sister by her side.

Blue Dragon receives dozens of calls for help from children, families and young women just like Ly every week. By donating to the Emergency Appeal, you can help bring them all home.
