Uncle Thai, as he was lovingly called by everyone he knows, was one of the legends who helped built Hoi An to be the tourism capital of Vietnam as it is known today. From when he first arrived to Hoi An in 1997, to the day he passed away in this beautiful town in Spring 2015, his many, seemingly “eccentric” ideas, have become successful businesses that, in turn, create revolutions in the cooking, drinking, and tourism industries in Hoi An.

[Small update] Drought and boat rides 🌞

🔥Droughts and high temperatures throughout August have currently caused a noticeable reduction in the water level in Hoi An. Therefore, to ensure a smooth ride along Hoai River, traditional sampan boats will be replaced with motorboats in days when water level gets lower than usual.

[UPDATE] Historic saltwater intrusion has hit Hoi An.

After boiling heat waves and wildfires, Central Vietnam provinces, including Quang Nam, are suffering from serious salt intrusion.

Salt levels are reaching 12-13 times higher than normal limits in the downstream area of the Thu Bon River, causing terrible clean water shortage. Therefore, we sincerely hope to receive your sympathy with the fact that clean water used for cooking and irrigation is limited than usual.

After suffering damage from a sudden tropical thunderstorm, WE ARE BACK!
Please extend a big round of applause for all our staff members, who worked tirelessly to fix the roof, repair all electrics back to its safety standard, and clean up the debris.
Yesterday, we thought it would take us one week to recover and repair everything. In reality, it took TWO DAYS!
