Gary Washburn and Jesse Snyder release JAZZ at MANTA album nominated for Jazz Album of the Year and "Mauna Kea Beach Blues" for Instrumental of the Year!

Jazz at Manta is an album of originals and a selection of jazz favorites generated by popular demand and executed by the dynamic duo of Gary Washburn, a recognized jazz educator and multi-instrumental musician along with Jesse Snyder, able and versatile saxophone/clarinet player and simultaneous drummer.
The two have been performing at the Manta Restaurant in the famed Mauna Kea Beach Hotel on the Kohala Coast of the big island of Hawaii for the past 6 years. They have a musical chemistry and syncopated communication that is heard and seen in their live performances on Wednesdays and Saturdays at the Manta Restaurant Lounge and on the album.
Gary Washburn is a gifted and prolific songwriter. His “Mauna Kea Beach Blues” opens the album followed by “Soft Touch,” both are upbeat jazzy tunes.
The album includes favorites of Gary and Jesse that are often requested and loved by the guests and residents of the MKBH properties:

Jesse is honored to be nominated with esteemed educator Gary Washburn and business partner Andree Fallas in possibly 3 categories of the 46th Na Hoku Hanohano Awards including Jazz Album of the Year and Instrumental of the Year “Mauna Kea Beach Blues”. HARA members! Asking for your vote.

Jesse is a multi-instrumentalist, arranger, vocalist and Hawi resident. He moved to the big island 14 years ago and has played in several bands including Kahulanui the recipients of the Jazz Album award at the 2018 Hoku Awards, Castaways, Ollieophonics and his bands: Big Island Groove Band and Kanaka Swing Band.

He currently plays with Gary at the Manta Lounge in the Mauna Kea Beach Hotel on Wednesday thru Saturday from 6-9pm.
