A couple of pic’s of BTS life aboard ⚓️ Boat life has been a dream so far! We have been learning so much, overcome some big challenges & settled into a slower pace! It’s been so nice making this 34ft floating tiny house our home - cooking meals, working remotely in the mornings & playing endless board games in the evening ♟(amongst countless hours of swims). Navigating the Ionian ocean & learning Scarabs temperament - we were told by a salty seaman docked next to us that boats have souls and like to test their new owners.. and we are starting to believe that 👀😅

Introducing Scarab 🪲

Our new floating home, based in the gorgeous Greece! 🇬🇷 When we left New Zealand in April it was our dream to find ourselves a live aboard sail boat, so we explore Europe in our own floating home 🏠 In June, while enjoying a quiet evening in our flat in Colares Portugal, we finally came across what we had been looking for - a 34ft Mallard based in Greece ⛵️ So we took the very big leap, decided to cut our Portugal stay short and jumped on a flight to check out our potential new home… a few weeks and a whole lot of paper work later, we were the proud owners of Scarab ⚡️

We have spent a month adventuring on this beautiful boat, getting to know the ins and outs of life aboard and finally felt it was time to share this adventure with the world 🗺

A little update from us 🐝

After 1 & 1/2 incredible months in Portugal & now an equally as magic time in Greece, we have been thinking about how we want to share our adventures moving forward ✨ & we have decided to make a couple of changes…

1. Vlogs / Weekly updates: From now on these (past, present & future) will be reserved for our Patreons! It takes a lot of time to pop together a “YouTube” manicured vlog & so we have decided to instead make some less edited weekly vids & upload these to Patreon as our travel diary 📔 So if you enjoy this kind of content, head over to our Patreon!

2. Bi-monthly Travel Films: Youtube won’t be totally missing out, we will also be taking time to pop together a wee film every 2 months of one of our recent adventures 🎥 This way we have more time to put together a properly edited video that we are proud to share with you all 🤍

3. The Blog: We have been working behind the scenes to put together a blog website with more in-depth information about the places we visit - with tips, tricks & itineraries! Coming very soon 👀

3 of our fave travel hacks 🧳

1. Bring a multi box with you from home, that way you only need one adapter to connect & change bunch of devices at once! This has been great for us with needing to keep both laptops and camera equipment charged 🔌

2. Bring from home / buy at the start of your trip, a good reusable drink bottle & lunch box! It has saved us soo much money packing lunches and also meant we could steer away from one use plastics ♻️

3. Get yourself an card! We have used a few different cash passport / currency cards and find transfer wise is the best! Our card has worked over most of Europe and we love that you can transfer money on the go and it converts in under a minute! Plus you can add the digital card to your phone wallet!

We have been loving the diverse landscape of Portugal… one minute we are beach bumming along the stunning coastline & the next we are fully immersed in the local history and exploring the ruins of a castle!

In this episode we wrap up our time in Exmouth with a stunning Charles Knight Canyon sunset 🌅 & then head back to Perth where we jump on a boat to visit the breath taking Rottnest Island that put on a show!! Seals, Quokka’s, Sting Rays, Tropical Fish, Bird life and more!! We truly felt like we were in a David Attenborough film 🎥

Before we left to try our hand at full time travel.. we spent a few months in our home country Aotearoa, NZ! 🇳🇿 In between work & saving up for the next big adventure we would take Joe’s van Ross on adventures around the North Island of New Zealand and took our film equipment too 🎥

This video series contains a whole lot of surfing, fishing, sailing and general adventuring - so if NZ is somewhere you’d be keen to check out, it could be worth a watch 🏄 🎣 ⛵️

We are Nadia and Joe, a couple from Aotearoa, New Zealand 🇳🇿

After talking & dreaming about it for a while, this year we took the leap into full time travel!! ✈️ Jumping on a plane in April, with a one way ticket out of NZ 🎟

This page is a space we set up to share our journey with you all - with posts about our fave spots, travel itineraries & tips! 🍿

Last year we spent a month in Bali and tired our hand at some amateur movie making 🎥 Which we really enjoyed. We ain’t great at it, but love the process of filming our adventures and crafting these into short films (a process we hope to get much better at).

A little bit of an update / bts from us…

During Nov & Dec we were a little quiet on here as we had 2 BIG projects under way!

#1 We finished renovations on our tiny house 🏡 So it’s all ready to sell! For the last few years we have been living in and out of our gorgeous wee home, but with plans for 2023 changing our direction a wee bit… it was time to say goodbye to our lovely home and give it a good lick of paint and some love before we find it a new home 🔑🫶🏼

Merry Christmas & a Happy New Year from us!!! 🥳

November & December have been more than hectic for us both, but we have still managed to get some filming in and can’t wait to bring you the final episodes of our NZ Van Roadie soon & a new season to celebrate the New Year!! Sorry for the hiatus from episodes & content - but we can’t wait to jump into this more so full time in 2023 🌟🫶🏼
