✨Come and join me for an hour of relaxing yoga on Sunday the 10th of March at 4pm, join us on your own or bring your mum, sister, daughter or any special woman in your life for free.

✨Indulge yourself in an afternoon of calming and gentle yoga to ease tension, clear your head. Taking some time out for yourself to rest and rejuvenate is not only needed as a mum, but is vital. Give yourself some space, some time to remember who you are, and enjoy the afternoon of gentle yoga followed by warm cacao.

✨No experience or flexibility is required, suitable for late teen upwards.

Today is the World Mental Health Day and I felt Iike I wanted to share this poem with you.
I'm trying hard to stay away from the news, keeping busy and focusing on a good stuff..realising how lucky I am.

I’M FINE

Today I said “I’m fine” not once
But five times altogether
When people asked “how are you?”
Then made small talk of the weather

And so I hid behind my mask -
The one I’d worn a while
I set in place my bravest face
And dressed it with a smile

And that was how the day went
All “I’m fine” and talk of rain
Until somebody asked me how I was
Then asked again

They asked if I was truly fine
And I said I was not
And they said they were sorry
That they couldn’t do a lot

But then they sat beside me
Whilst I spoke the truth at last
They held me and they listened
As the tears slipped through my mask

And where before I’d felt
I should maintain this brave façade
I realised there was much to gain
By letting down my guard

See, though my load was still the same
It now was not as heavy
‘Cause sitting and offloading some
Had helped a bit already

Today they asked “how are you?”
And I told them I was fine
‘Til someone saw behind the mask
And asked me one more time

And though they may have felt
That there was little they could do
They’ll never know how much it meant
To tell someone the truth

I've had this calling recently to pause teaching for a while and concentrate on my personal practice a bit more..
By taking care of myself, I have so much more to offer to the world and others than I do when I'm running on empty.
When you take care of yourself, you're better person for the others.
When you feel good about yourself, you treat others better.. so if you need to serve today, FIRST start with yourself. 🙏

Here's one of my favourite Leonard Cohen quotes:
✨Ring the bells that still can ring,
forget your perfect offering.
There is a crack, a crack in everything.
That's how the light gets in.✨

We've completed our 4 weeks of Find Your Balance Yoga this morning and finished our practice with wise words of ✨Guy Burgs✨ - one of the most accomplished and respected meditation teacher in the West.
Here's just a bit of it:
..it doesn't actually take very much to make the deepest part of us incredibly happy, you know?
Just to be here, just to appreciate being here.
To feel that you're alive
To be in touch with your heart.. that's it.

It takes mindfulness to come to a human life and then above that, it takes mindfulness and virtue to come to a fortunate human life.
The chance to be part of this happens briefly. The invitation is not to show how inventive and imaginative you are,
but how much you can notice what you're already part of. And appreciate and share it, and care about those that are around, who count for their welfare while you are looking out for your own, that's it.
And then you'll get to end of it, having had an awesome time knowing that, that is something you'd recommend to others...💖

FRIDAY vibes of Paschimottanasana - just what I needed after a loong week at work!
This asana in translation means 'Intense stretch of the West' where West here refers to the back side of body (because of the practice of facing The Rising Sun in the East).
Great for reducing stress, anxiety, relieving spinal compression, tones and stretches your spine, burns belly fat and increasing calmness.

The BWY and the Mandala Ashram are holding a Meditation of Hope on Thursday 16 February 2023 at 7pm for anyone who wishes to come together for victims of the Türkiye and Syria earthquake.

The meditation, led by Swami SatyaDaya, is called The Courage to Care: keeping an open heart in the midst of tragedy. It will be followed by a candlelit vigil and time to be together in silence.

This Meditation of Hope is open to all and will be hosted on Zoom. Please feel free to share with family and friends. You’ll find more details here W: bwy.org.uk/meditation-of-hope/

✨What an amazing class today!
🙏Thank you everyone who joined me, I'm so grateful for yoga and all of you in this busy, crazy world we live in.

💜🤍We finished our 6 weeks beginners course today focusing on Ajna - Third Eye Chakra and Sahasrara - Crown Chakra.
Our peak pose was Rabbit pose - Sasangasana and supported Head stand Sirsasana.
We finished our class with guided relaxation followed by hot cacao and a bit of catch up.

🧘🏼‍♀️I'm planning the next 5 weeks yoga course starting in March, so keep your eyes peeled on here if interested.
Meanwhile have an amazing half term, have fun and stay safe.
