5 Ways to Serve Your Baby Eggs! 🍳

Ever feel like you’re serving the same thing day in and day out to your baby? Let’s change things up and add in variety, which is important for developing eaters as they learn to accept new tastes and textures!

The best part, eggs are versatile and your baby can literally eat .

SAVE THIS POST for 5 easy + nutritious ways to serve baby eggs:

➡️Hard boiled – make sure the yolk isn’t runny; we find a 10-12 minute boil is perfect for large eggs!
➡️Scrambled – for a fluffy scramble make sure you whisk the raw eggs well or even give it a whiz in your blender.
➡️Custard – recipe for baby banana custard on our blog - it's a perfect smooth texture for spoon feeding.
➡️Omelette – great way to add in other ingredients like vegetables.
➡️Baby Pancake – have you tried baby banana pancakes? They are so easy and years later our kids still love them (recipe below).

🥚 In addition to being versatile, eggs are a powerhouse of nutrition! They're packed with healthy fats that are essential for your baby's development and provide choline, lutein, vitamin A, and zinc for those growing minds and bodies.

🥞Baby Banana Pancakes:
INGREDIENTS⁠
1 large ripe banana⁠
1 egg⁠
1 - 3 tbsp nutrient booster (this could be ground flax, infant cereal, almond flour - use as much as need for a thicker consistency)⁠
¼ tsp cinnamon⁠
1 tbsp vegetable oil *for cooking

DIRECTIONS⁠
In a small bowl, mash banana until slightly runny. A few lumps is OK.⁠
Whisk in egg until well combined.⁠
Add in your choice of nutrient booster & cinnamon.⁠
Heat your skillet or cast iron pan to low or medium heat and drizzle/spray oil.⁠
Drop ¼ cup portion of the pancake batter on the pan. You can also use a large spoon.⁠
Cook for 1-2 minutes, flip, cook for another 1-2 minutes.⁠

Tip: if you find your mixture is too runny, add in another 1 tbsp of the nutrient booster.⁠

There's a reason that some countries are looking at banning the marketing of less nutritionally dense foods to kids - because the marketing works!

So, let's take a lesson from the marketing pros and use it to our advantage as parents :)

In one research study with school cafeterias, they put carrots on the menu calling them - you guessed it - carrots! The kids at this school weren't very interested. In another school they put "x-ray vision carrots" on the menu and the kids gobbled them up!

In the slides I've shared a couple examples of fun ways I (Jess) have rebranded food in our house that have gotten my kids curious and interested in trying different foods.

What successful rebrands have you used with your kids?

Remember - the key is to just have fun with it. If your kids sense a sneaky pressure tactic, they may run the other way!
