Today’s salvage arrival, Deere 550H. Seller had no idea what’s wrong with it. Roll those dice!!

This is my friend Bill Torans. Bill and I were conducting business when I was working at a salvage yard in Waco in the late 80’s. He used to be a partner in TMT Equipment before becoming a county commissioner for 14 years. He’s 87 and retired now. He said he was going through an old Rolodex the other day and saw my old business card. Bill remembers when we started OEM, 27 years ago. At that time it was just my wife and I and 1 mechanic. Today was his first visit in 20 years and he was very impressed with what we’ve done here.

We talked about the right way to treat employees, customers and vendors and he said “That’s why I always knew you’d succeed. You treat people with respect and honor.” Receiving praise from someone you respect is about as good as it gets. Good to see you and your sweet wife, Bill!

Today’s salvage arrival, Cat 950M. This one won’t last long.

UPN 2024 was a hit! Fort Lauderdale was the perfect location. So good to see old friends and make new ones. Lots of fun was had and a little business too. Thanks to everyone who came by our booth and spent time with us over the weekend. What a BLAST!!!

What a year! We’re having another record year, with a 42% increase in sales over this time last year. And last year was our best year in 26 years. There’s so much stuff coming and going, it’s hard to keep up with it all. One thing is certain. We need more warehouse!

Robert McDaniel (left) is our service manager. He’s also the most studied hydraulic systems expert I’ve ever known. Curtis Redmon is also a mechanical genius and incredibly fast learner. Together they make OEM a very wise choice for fully rebuilt, tested hydraulic components.

JJ decided to cook ribeyes for 23 today. He’s an incredible chef, along with all the rest. Do you wish you worked here today? Yes…yes you do.

This is Dom Hoyt. He started here as a cnc machine operator. He has an appetite for effective production. He’s now welding, running a manual lathe, rebuilding and testing hydraulic cylinders and has started to learn to rebuild transmissions. All of that in a year. And he’s delighted to be here. He has replaced at least 2 people at OEM. And before anyone says it, yes he is making 2x his salary at his former job.

How tall is he? Well that opening is 6’9” and he has to duck to walk through it. Thanks for humoring me with that pose sir. And thanks for bringing it 💯 every single day!

Jason just loves it when we show up wearing the same shirt. Lol! This man is the best shipping/ warehouseman I’ve ever known. When your components show up, redundantly strapped to custom pallets or crates, this is the man to thank. Thanks man!

Deere 1050K final, rebuilt by Curtis. He has over 40 hours into rebuilding this thing. Its huge. Curtis don’t care. This man is a consummate professional technician and we’re very fortunate to have him as part of our amazing crew.

Today is JJ’s birthday! If you don’t know this man, you should get to know him. JJ has been our sales manager for almost a decade and Man has he ever made a difference in this company. He brings a level of professionalism and effort that is very rare. Plus, he’s just a really cool guy. Happy birthday my friend!

Glen Hoyt and Dom Hoyt making a difference. We have a great reputation after 27 years of business at OEM. We’re not only known for high quality parts and support but also for having a consistent supply of our most popular goods. Glen is reclaiming a diff input quill that is no longer available. Without his innovative perfection, we’d be unable to supply this particular axle. I’m not sure what Dom is doing but I can guarantee it’s necessary and correct.

A few product pics this morning. Between adding aftermarket and Cat, the mix is getting interesting around here. We have 15 mechanics and machinists with over 250 years combined relevant experience. We’re not playing. Call us!

One of our favorite people in the industry and one of my favorite people in the world came to see us today, Monica Gardner from H&R. Monica was mentored by Steve Hanson, also one of my mentors. We think a lot alike. It was a true pleasure seeing you and showing you our main plant and our “component recovery division.” Come back anytime!

Better send the big truck! Those crates hold 3 more rebuilt transmissions and 2 hydraulic pumps. Between disassembly, inspecting, rebuilding, testing, painting and crating, these sold components represent over 400 hours of skilled labor. And that work was performed by the best in the business, our amazing team.

Our 2nd Euroricambi shipment made it in from Italy. The quality of these parts is amazing. We’re gonna need a bigger warehouse!

Republic Roof took some drone shots of our newly replaced roof. Their work is beautiful! They added insulation and a waterproof white membrane with a 20 year warranty. I’m pretty sure our mechanics are going to like a cooler, totally dry shop. Next, new offices and more warehouse. We’re on a roll!
