Better than new
While most rebuilders strive to produce a product that performs close to the original, our shop is always looking to improve on the original. This shaft / drum assembly is a perfect example. Deere doesn’t sell the drum by itself. You must purchase the entire assembly. The problem is, the shaft is usually in perfect condition when the drum cracks from running the machine on hard pavement while 4wd is engaged. Glen Hoyt located aluminum billet, then cuts sections off, runs the blanks through a lathe and 2 different cnc machining centers, and then installs the drum back onto the shaft, creating a like new replacement. Since ours are cut from solid billet, instead of cast, ours passed the destruction test by Never cracking under load. In the pic of the 2 drums, the one on the left is original, clearly cracked. Ours eventually bent but never did crack. We will soon be supplying remanufactured assemblies for sale, exchange. This fact makes Glen a happy man. 😁

We do Deere axles right. Every one is disassembled, cleaned, inspected, rebuilt to factory specs, tested, painted, and secured to a custom pallet. If your customer only wants to change his axle out once, he wants one of our axles. We have most common Deere axles on the shelf, ready to ship. Call us!

Our axle shop manager Bo is one happy camper. He was finally able to rebuild an 844K axle for inventory before it sold. It’s also being fully tested before paint and packaging. When you buy something this big and truck it across the country, you want to know it’s right. It is!

Cutting the chamfers into a new insert on one of our cnc machining centers. Glen Hoyt has brought a whole new level of understanding to OEM. We now literally manufacture what we can’t find. This helps keep a steady supply of components available that are otherwise scarce. Thanks Glen!

The very intelligent people in our shop have figured out how to put a load on our backhoe transmissions, utilizing a hydraulic component, effectively creating a dyno. Now we can more effectively check the torque converters that are remanufactured by a 3rd party. We Never stop innovating. We Never stop trying to do a better job for our customer’s customers.

Glen decided to program one of his machines to make a RAT logo out of metal. Gotta have some fun every now and then!

The shop tank is looking good. Just added a miniatus grouper and he’s already the king.

Another piece of equipment we purchased from Glen Hoyt when he and Dom joined us. It’s just a saw but man is it handy!

Our latest time saving gizmo, Blanchard surface grinder. It cleans up and re-dimensions plates and disks for transmissions and axles, and much more. This frees up our mechanics to perform more technical tasks and greatly improves our production time and consistency.

Glen showed me the tumbler today. It removes small burs and imperfections caused by machining. I asked him where it came from and he said “Is been in the corner. It’s another machine you didn’t realize you’d bought from me.” Lol! There have been several defining moments in the history of this company. Glen Hoyt selling us his machine shop and applying his incredible depth of knowledge and experience to our efforts was one of those key moments.

One of our CNC mills in action. Glen Hoyt knows some stuff!

One of our machining centers removing lots of material from a cover to create an adapter plate. Since FB won’t let us mix videos with pics, the story is in the next post.

One of our CNC machining centers manufacturing a new clutch drum for a Deere backhoe transmission. We couldn’t find enough of these to keep up with demand so we decided to make our own. Our machine shop manager Glen Hoyt has assured us they will be even better than the original. He knows some stuff!

Bo and Red met the driver today with the 2nd 744K. There are great employees and then there are amazing people. These big brothers are both.

Today’s component donor arrival. Everything works. We’ll kill it anyway!

Some of our techs making things happen this morning. Hello from Texas!
