Governor Kemp gave his 2024 State of the State Address this morning. He listed out many priorities that he would like the General Assembly to work on this session. Here is a sample of the list:
✔️ Speed up the implementation of the largest tax cut in history
✔️ School Choice, pay raises for teachers, permanent school safety funding
✔️ Public safety, supporting our public safety officers, finishing the Atlanta Public Safety Training Center
✔️ Health care, lowering insurance premiums
✔️ Shore up the state retirement fund
And many more! I'm looking forward to getting to work.

The Forsyth County Chamber of Commerce hosted a well-attended pre-legislative session breakfast this morning. We covered a wide range of topics such as education, transportation, taxes and antisemitism. Our state delegation appreciated the questions and feedback from the community.
This morning I attended the Georgia Sports Franchises Legislative event. The proposed hockey arena being discussed for Forsyth County will be in HD24. I am here to better understand the economic impact for our community.
This week, the House passed a resolution in support of the Atlanta Public Safety Training Center. I will always support the brave men and women in blue. Thank you to all who work tirelessly every day to keep Georgians safe.

I am proud to stand with my colleagues in condemning the Hamas terrorist attacks against Israel. These attacks were unprovoked and Israel must defend itself. During the 24 legislative session, the Republican leadership plans to pass the largest income tax cut in Georgia's history, returning earnings to hardworking Georgians. Your money belongs in your pocket, not the government.
Today, alongside leaders from the General Assembly, I was proud to announce our proposal to accelerate the largest state income tax cut in state history.

The Governor has extended the gas tax suspension through Thanksgiving.
As hardworking Georgia families fight through Bidenomics and prepare for Thanksgiving travel, I’ve once again extended the gas tax suspension to provide further relief.
