Nakiri in mild steel and Aogami 2 sanmai. This is the first heat - forge weld the layers, start forging the Nakiri shape, cut a notch for the tang and cut off the blade. We aim for three more heats at the most - one for the tang, two to complete forging the blade.

Posted @withregram • @dajw I like things that are nice, and this is very nice indeed. A proper hand made 210mm gyuto knife from VG10 steel and a handle made of local oak. It was expertly crafted by @twosticksforge and I had honestly never used anything quite so sharp! It is such a pleasure to use, and a beautiful thing to keep. I love it! #knifemaker #gyuto #handforged #handforgedknife
