Our latest build was a customized stand-up desk. A local voice-over artist requested this unique piece to fit her tiny sound-proof booth. It'll work perfectly to hold her equipment and she'll still have room to work!
A few weeks ago Grandpa and the oldest grandgirls worked together to build a swingset for the backyard. They did an amazing job following instructions and showed they could handle many tools already. Now we have a solid swing set for all six grandchildren to play on and even an occasional parent! :)
From start to finish- a table build
This beautiful, custom piece was delivered last week to the happy clients! We loved the opportunity to use this old metal form, formerly a part in a manufacturing plant, as the base. It gives this table a true industrial design. The table was built specifically for their space to match their new floors and give them plenty of room for guests!
We love creating new pieces out of old and sharing the stories they tell. Whose project is next?
We love creating new pieces from old, and combining wood and iron always has amazing results. Recently a customer brought us this old cast iron base. The original green industrial color is still visible in the first photo. Roger gave it a couple coats of paint and it was ready to go.
Meanwhile he began the process of building the table top. He and the customer decided to go with a 3/4 inch top to keep the table at an average height and chose a beautiful maple for the wood. The table includes pegged breadboards to give it the perfect length to work with the base. Final photos to follow!

We had a wonderful opportunity to visit the Ark Encounter in Kentucky this past weekend. This woodworker spent the whole visit admiring the construction, the wood, the beauty of the build, imagining what it would have taken to build it without modern tools. It truly was overwhelming to consider! What an amazing experience!
We had the opportunity to purchase some old barn wood this week! Looking forward to building some great projects with all these boards! What would you do with them?
Is it too early to be working on Christmas presents??? NOPE! Because when you work by yourself you have to think ahead and take advantage of time between projects!
These boxes, cutting boards and charcuterie boards will be up on the website by August for early shopping! But if you need something sooner let us know!
These beautiful desks are done and ready for pickup. Each one has six applications of the hand-wiping poly we’ve used for years. It gives a solid protection from moisture and just needs a simple damp cloth for clean up. Easy peasy!
Remember that rough lumber? This wood is for five desks, 2 x 4 feet, made of hard maple. The client needed the tops made and finished as he was furnishing a new office in the Nashville area.
Did you know we start most of our projects with rough lumber like this? We don’t buy from box stores for various reasons but source our lumber from local Tennessee lumber mills. This pile of maple hardwood will become a large conference table for a Nashville business, but first it has to be milled.

Every project we do begins with a drawing on Sketchup based on the client's needs, design, and measurements. This is the drawing Roger made for this latest project. Now look at the final product - built exactly to the custom requirements the client asked for. Yes, the client is super happy!
This beautiful piece is now in the client’s home, but it looked pretty nice in ours! 😉 Thank you to Osborne Wood Products, Inc. for the solid feet that support this long media center. We appreciated the great service we received from McNichols Co., they provided the steel grate for the doors. Of course the ash came from Sparta Woodworks LLC - amazing wood! All right, whose next?
