This bench is made from cedar trees taken down by a local tornado. We have a limited supply of benches and a table available on our website. https://baynecustomwoodworking.com/shop/

This one-of-a-kind live edge, cedar bench is ready for pickup. We love the contrast of colors and the natural curve the live-edge provides. We’ve accented the top with black walnut bow ties and finished the bench with our custom hand wiping poly finish protecting the surface from years of wear and tear. For details on price and specific size please refer to our product page on our website. https://baynecustomwoodworking.com/shop/ #woodworking #redcedar #forsale

Wiping on the first coat of poly!
And sometimes your wife understands the shop isn’t quite big enough for all five desk tops, so she lets you finish one in the front living (AKA the Furniture Show Room for Bayne Custom Woodworking!) 😉 #customwoodworking #desktop #handwipepolyfinish

The latest project for a commercial office space. Five desktops and a large conference table are being built from 8 quarter maple (2” thick boards). We are building the tops and the client has the bases already in-house. The desks will be finished with 6 hand wiped coats of poly which will be perfect for the daily wear and tear of a busy office. The grain of these boards will make gorgeous desk tops! #officedesks #customwoodworking #maplehardwood #nashville

Christmas Gift

Happy Thanksgiving!

Helper in the shop
Grandpa had some help in the shop last weekend. Adding bowties to cedar pieces requires preparation with the router and then glue and a strong grandchild to pound the bowties into the piece! I think Grandpa is amazingly calm for having that mallet so close to his head! #bowties #customwoodworking #grandkids #woodworker

Huge Custom Island Delivery
What does it take to get a solid wood kitchen island into a house? Five strong men! Good thing he over builds, notice the island structure doesn't wobble a bit! #custombuiltfurniture #nashville

Removing bark
We appreciate our neighbors not complaining when he brings out the noisy and dust causing tools! #woodworking #custom #nashville

Finishing the top
Here is the new top to the kitchen table! He's applying the first coat of hand mixed poly - isn't she beautiful! Curious about the hand-mixed poly method? An Elm tree slab goes through the planer
This Elm wood is from a tree in West Nashville. Roger is planing it to make it flat and then he will hand sand it with multiple different sand paper. Stay tuned to see it become a beautiful live edge bench! #customwoodworking #liveedge #bench
