Blunderware - Afim Chaash (Audio Teaser)
“Afim Chaash” • What is new that could be said about this song? Even before “viral” was a thing, the doctors at the Blunderlab created this.. monstrosity, this abomination. What have we done, said Oppenheimer, as the song entered the mind of.. sorry, we’re getting ahead of ourselves. January 2010, Blunderware released the infamous Afim Chaash into the wild. Fourteen years into the future, we make the same happy mistake again. Blunderware - Afim Chaash | Tehelka Sessions 2011
Afim Chaash - The Boy and The Boat. Rushnaf Wadud and his friends from Tehelka: Andrew, Raju, Samrat, Shaunak and the boys, shot a pilot, adrift on the Yamuna, through the heart of the subcontinent. This happenstance gave birth to two things at once: a pioneering production name that catapulted local indie content all across the early years of the internet: the TehelkaTV sessions, and a little band situated in another part of the subcontinent, in Dhaka, Bangladesh: Blunderware. 12 years later, we revisit the moment the phenomenon of “Afim Chaash” was truly born; reverberating down the halls of celebrated institutions as a “f*ck you” anthem, droning out of your hiding places, remembering once we were young, and winter hadn’t come for us yet. Here’s the first-ever iteration of “Afim Chaash”. We celebrate its new life on the internet with the upcoming “The Neo Afim EP.”. What was lost in the fire, we exorcise it; through the mist and fog of Maagh, we come back again to this Bengal. #Blunderware #AfimChaash

January will eat us all. Maagh is upon us.

Maagh (time capsule)
Maagh (time capsule) • And before you know it, ten years have passed us by. I mean, just look at us! Here’s us in 2023, because history only comes back around. Some songs just don’t disappear, you know? We’re nearly there. Maagh is upon us. #Maagh #Blunderware

Maagh (time capsule) • 10 years ago, on a winter’s morning, Dawel and team recorded us randomly, singing a song we’d just made a few days ago, on a trip to Chittagong where it rained for three days and we could barely shoot a coherent video for “Afim Chaash”.” But that history. Some songs never disappear, you know? Maagh is closing in on us.

Happy Birthweek, Sinjan!
Fashionably late to the birthday wish, but fear not – the celebration week rolls on! Happy Birthweek, Sinjan!

“Moshari’r Ei Din-Raatri” | Live at Jatra Biroti | Feat. Rushmian Wadud
From Rushnaf’s journal, 31.04.2023, Monday, 10:10 PM: “I know April is at an end, but it would be remiss of me to not make a note of this little piece of magic, a moment I still borrow warmth from when the wasteland inside me, the barren remnants of things I’ve left behind in cots and IV drips and pulse monitor beats, they all come together to overwhelm me. Before I flew away to yet again find out what was wrong with me, my baby brother hosted a show at Jatra Biroti, and brought me on stage to perform with him what would turn out to be the beginning of a moment of hiatus from the stage, for me. The stage is where I might have truly been born. Just like I’ve left parts of me in hospital cabins, I’ve taken on scraps and bits of stages across a world, quiet, wild, beautiful, dangerous, enigmatic, full of peacetime roses on the stage, and twisting indecision, taking bourbon for rage. How do I leave it behind? How does one say goodbye to the expectant faces just beyond the blinding lights? A room that has memorised and knows your song better than you do? That hums and reverberates with so much love that a single man’s weak heart barely holds it together, manages to contain you all within it? I said goodbye on April. I don’t know when I’ll be truly back, but this moment, singing my own favourite song urged on by my brother Rushmian Wadud… grown up so much, performing his own little show… this moment shall always remind me that the cruellest month can indeed be a little kind. Rewind. All that was missing in that room was our sister… but in this way, I can just imagine her singing along in my head. In this way, she’s in the room when I’m holding back my emotions when I waved at the light when I walked off the stage. Goodbye, April.” Thank you Sadman Sakib Onindo for capturing this moment. Love and regards. “Moshari’r Ei Din-Raatri”, coming soon (since 2011) (we have pictorial proof). Watch this space.
