2023, probably one of the most challenging and rewarding years at the same time. A year of personal growth! 🥹
It’s been a rollercoaster of emotions between discovering new places, learning a huge amount of new tools and skills but also feeling burned out by all the workload I put on myself and unfortunately being diagnosed with the HPV virus which led to a small operation this summer. It was never something to really worry about but looking back I know how much energy it took from me and in my subconscious it’s been a very challenging time.
Before I start sharing a bit more about my year I want to say a huge thank you to each and everyone who is still following my journey on here even though I’ve been not that active all year long. ❤️ I really appreciate you so so much! I love how many amazing new friends I’ve made through Instagram and I can’t wait to meet some of you in real life next year. ❤️
My 2023 started with a 4-week intense yoga teacher training which is still one of the hardest things I’ve ever done, physically but also mentally. Overall one of the most rewarding experiences though. The knowledge I gained in such a short amount of time was actually insane. I still can’t believe how awkward it was in week 1 to stand in front of the group to teach something and then 4 weeks later I taught a full yoga class all on my own :).
The spring was defined by a healing journey of my longterm injuries which is still an ongoing process but it’s getting better the more energy I put into my strength workout and mobility routine. But I also learned that part of my shoulder issues come from my personal history which I might share at some point on here. Not ready for that yet 😌.

Life is better by the beach, at least for me 😊. Been missing it a lot lately. I love the time here in northern Vietnam but it’s time for some sand on my feet again!
Who still has this poll function on posts? I think I only had it for a few weeks 😅.
Laos will forever be one of those places that will have a big place in my heart. I’ve already visited twice and I am pretty sure I’ll go a third time 😊
The northern part between Luang Prabang and Vang Vieng is changing fast with the newly built highspeed train from China to the capital of Laos. Heard it’s getting crowded now…so I guess better visit sooner than later. I am sure anything south of Vientiane and the 4000 islands will stay calm for a while. Travel is still only possible by bus as far as I know and those bus rides are looong 😉 BUT so worth it!
Last year I spend a week riding a scooter through the northwestern part of Thailand and found some beautiful spots throughout the trip.
When you hear Thailand you’ll probably think of gorgeous beaches and turquoise water but Thailand is huuuge and has so many stunning landscapes to discover 😊
Best time to visit the north will be end of monsoon season (Oct-Feb). October is probably the best month with rice fields being green and lush before they are harvested.
This is one of those places on our beautiful planet that will just make you speechless. I’ve had the chance to already see it twice in my life and words really can’t describe how beautiful this waterfall is. I had tears in my eyes both times. 🥹
If you ever make it to Laos don’t miss out on this place! And if you arrive when it opens which I think was 8am, you’ll be more or less alone. Kris and I had 10min all alone and it was truly magical 🥹❤️
📍Kuang Si Waterfall, Laos
Dreamy thai beaches will forever be my favourite ❤️
Happy Friday everyone!
This is beautiful Arugam Bay and it’s surroundings on the eastcoast of Sri Lanka.
It’s a top surf location and has its season from April - October. Arugam Bay gets extremely busy in July and August, also prices go up a lot! I visited in June and besides the extreme heat (37 celcius 🥵) it was perfect. Not too many people around 😊
Time for some more photos 😍. Vang Vieng in Laos is still one of favourite places of all time for drone shots. It’s surrounded by mountains and every morning and evening you can see the hot air balloons 😊.
Anyone been to Laos yet or wants to visit soon?
Can highly recommend it! Been there twice and would visit again :)
This is such a personal topic to share but I hope it will help you as a woman for the future!
In March 2023 I got diagnosed with one of the risky types of HPV. For anyone who doesn’t know it, it’s the virus that can cause cervical cancer. I am not gonna go into too much medical details here since I am also not an expert, but there are different types. Some are less harmful than others. I have one of the bad ones.
How did I find out? In Germany you go to an annual check up which I am incredibly grateful for 🙌, so this was found at an early stage (in Sept 22 I got the result that cells are abnormal).
The normal procedure is to get another check after 6 months which I did in Thailand. Long story short, I’ve been through several different tests throughout the past 6 months in Thailand and Sri Lanka and now I am having the abnormal tissue removed next week. It’s a minor procedure, I’ll be walking out of the hospital after 2h. 😊 I chose Thailand because they have amazing medical care with their private international hospitals and I feel like I am in very good hands now for the procedure next week.
So what am I trying to tell you with this post. Things like this can happen when you are abroad but that doesn’t mean healthcare only works in your home country plus no need to freak out my book that flight home. To be honest all doctors in Thailand and Sri Lanka were extremely knowledgeable and so helpful. They take tons of time to explain everything. Never experienced such friendliness with any doctor in Germany 😅. So if you might have a medical problem and think about traveling but are too afraid it won’t work out, it might actually be possible ❤️
Two things I want to emphasize:
1. PLEASE always go to your check ups, it’s so extremely important for your future 😊 and will save your life in the worst case scenario!
2. GET proper health insurance when you travel!!! So so important.
Thank you for reading all of this ❤️ share it with your friends, wives, girlfriends.
If you have any questions feel free to reach out! I am always here for a chat ❤️🙏
One of my fav little beaches in the south of Phuket ☀️
Make sure to check out and of course the best beach ever . Both are right next to each other 🙌
Time for topdown Tuesday again!
I’ve recently restructured my whole lightroom library 😅 and had a look at so many old shots.
It’s pretty cool to see the personal development when it comes to composition, lighting and especially the editing 😎 I guess we all know it’s a journey and no one starts as a pro.
It’s so easy though to compare yourself with others on here that have been photographing for a decade 😬.
You guys want to see some old vs new edits? Let me know!
📍Talalla beach, Sri Lanka
The most southern point of Sri Lanka 🙃
📍Dondra Lighthouse, SL
Make sure you visit very early. It’s a popular place. And try to avoid weekend because many locals visit and it can get crowded. I was there around 6:30am 😎
Top down shots will forever be my favourite ❤️
📍Nilwella Beach, Sri Lanka
I thought it’s time for another round of introduction and what I’ve been up to lately!
For all the new faces on my account, I am Eva, originally from Germany. I left my corporate job at the age of 33 (pretty boring finance/accounting stuff 😂) in the summer of 2021 and I have been traveling ever since.
It started with a 10 months trip mainly being in Thailand during the pandemic, and a few months around Europe. After that Kris (my boyfriend❤️) and I decided to actually give up our apartment in Munich and sell everything. We’ve really adapted to owning very little, living in small houses. We love it 🤩.
So we ended up in Thailand again haha for another 6 months. Feels like home these days and I can’t wait to be back in September 🙏.
People have asked me how do I afford this? Do I work online. The truth is, I’ve saved up quite some money during the covid years because we all know there was nothing going on besides the weekly grocery shopping 🙈. But I was also able to get unemployment money last during the summer when I was back in Germany for a few months (a big advantage of the German system). Tax refunds and selling all furniture and a ton of clothes and shoes helped a lot too, so I could travel more.
Choosing beautiful Southeast Asia was and is also the best choice because it’s such an affordable region of the world, has amazing landscapes and is seriously the best when it comes to vegan/vegetarian friendly local food.
Kris and I also travel very slowly. Get monthly accommodation/scooter deals which helps a lot.
But I am working on my own business. It’s been a rollercoaster, constantly learning something new whether it’s a new tool, marketing or SEO 😋. Big news are coming out next week so stay tuned 😎🤩.
Let me know if you have any questions. Happy to help with figuring out a travel budget or where to go to save some 💰!
Golden hour at one of the top beaches on Koh Phangan 🌴
At Mae Haad, when the tide is low you can walk over the sandbank to Koh Ma, a tiny inhabited island.

I got inspired by and tried something new in my editing process 😍.
Which one is your favorite?

I am really hooked on aerial photography since I got the drone a few months ago.
There is something special about top down photos ☺️.
Can't get enough of them!
I recently took so many great new photos with my drone and again, I can't decide which one to post 😜.
Can't believe it's Christmas again tomorrow. The years, especially the past two have just been flying away. So glad to be in warm weather again 🌴🌞.
Last year Kris and I spent the holidays on La Gomera, in the canaries. Glad to be back in Thailand though which is definitely one of my absolute favorite countries! 😍

More drone footage of Krabi province. 🤩
Which one do you like most? 😍
I love them all and it's so much fun to play around with colours!
Ao Nang beach outside of Krabi is slowly getting back to life with a few stand-up paddlers 🛶.
The landscape around Krabi is very special. Lots of karst mountains, mangroves and beautiful jungles.
