Happy hump day, everyone~🐪
We're calling upon alumni—yes you!—to submit their testimonies about CACCLC. As Christians, we know how important words are. Words are used to heal, words are used to praise, and words are used to attract people who share our experiences & values.
In this case, we seek your perspective on these two questions about CACCLC:
💙 How has CACCLC impacted your life?
💛 What advice do you have for newcomers?
Your testimony can be of any length: A few sentences? Great. A few paragraphs? That's great too!
Discern if you want to share with us your perspective & labor of writing, and send us your words to our resident blogger Rosalie at [email protected] [you can also DM us!] Submission by this Sunday, July 26th would be ideal.
Thank you for reading (& hopefully writing, too!)🙏🥰
So...how did CACCLC begin, and how has it changed over the years? We asked our longest running campers, Teresa, Nicholas, and Nathan to tell us the story of how the Living Camp concept migrated from Canada to the Bay Area, and ultimately grew to become the California Chinese Catholic Living Camp! Throwback photos included 😉
In case you missed it: check out our blog (https://cacclc.org/blog) for the previous post "What is CACCLC?"

What is CACCLC? — CACCLC The California Chinese Catholic Living Camp (CACCLC) brings together young adults in the Chinese Catholic community to grow and deepen their relationship with God. California Chinese Catholic Living Camp added a button to help you learn more about them.
On Easter Sunday, Pope Francis delivered the “Urbi et Orbi” message. “Urbi et Orbi” is a Latin phrase meaning, “To the City [of Rome] and the World” and is a special message & blessing given by the Pope on Easter Sunday, Christmas, and other special occasions.
On this solemn Easter, Pope Francis proclaimed the essence of Easter celebration: “Christ, my hope, is risen!” He says that this message, shared by Catholics around the world, is and can be “a different contagion,” one that is transmitted “from heart to heart.”
Christ’s resurrection is not a “magic formula that makes problems vanish,” he continued, “it is the victory of love over the root of evil.” This victory “does not by-pass suffering and death, but passes through them, opening a path in the abyss, transforming evil into good.”
[You can read a longer summary of Pope Francis’ message in this article: https://www.vaticannews.va/en/pope/news/2020-04/pope-easter-urbi-et-orbi-blessing.html]
We are called upon by Pope Francis to pray for the sick, the caregivers, the isolated, and all those blessed by Jesus in the Beatitudes. It is not by chance that the suffering are the foundation of our faithful communities.
Prayer has the power to reawaken hope and (re)set our gaze towards Jesus. Let us remember his promise to us, his followers, and with courage set forth his unique mission for all of us.
