Videos by HIMfertility. HIMfertility a campaign launched by Rhod Gilbert with the aim of encouraging men to talk infertility
Research we conducted with Leeds Beckett University revealed that infertility in men results in feelings of isolation for many.
💭The comments in this post, which were provided by men we spoke to, are evidence of this, with some saying that infertility impacted their relationships and their sense of 'masculinity', as well as making them feel weak or like a failure.
Fertility is a topic that is predominantly associated with women, despite the fact that 50% of all fertility issues in heterosexual couples are due to male fertility. The key to balancing fertility education and removing the stigma is to encourage men to have open conversations, let them know that there are spaces for them, and address the age-old expectation for men to be 'strong' and keep their emotions bottled up.
If you yourself or anyone you know is struggling with male infertility, please know that we are here to support you. Our HIMfertility support group is a safe space for men to gain peer support without fear of judgment. 🫶

A message from Ian Stones, Co-Director of Test Him, on changing the narrative for male fertility 💭 Ian speaks about creating safe spaces for men to speak about their struggles and tackling the 'banter' around the connection between masculinity and fertility. For any men looking for support, Test Him is an incredible resource. They offer consultations and a free questionnaire for men interested in how their lifestyle now could be impacting their fertility, as well as offering a soon-to-be-launched DNA fragmentation service which is aimed at those who are struggling to conceive. Their page and podcast are also great resources for those looking for more information about male fertility 🎙 Be sure to check them out! #fertility #fertilityjourney #fertilitysupport #fertilityawareness #fertilitytreatment #fertilitychallenges #ivf #ivfjourney #ivfsupport #fertilitygroups #infertility #infertilitysupport #fertilityadvice #ttc #ttccommunity #ttcjourney #malefertility #secondaryfertility #childlessnotbychoice #fertilityweek #FW23 #fertilityawarenessweek #malefertility #HIMfertility #maleinfertility #malehealth

Access to NHS fertility treatment varies across the UK. Local variations are more apparent in England where your postcode determines not only the number of cycles you will receive, but also the access criteria and the definition of a cycle. This arbitrary, unjust, and inequitable approach to NHS provision of treatment is unacceptable. Now is the time to Act! Each of the devolved nations has their own centrally set standard access criteria and number of cycles available. We are asking YOU to take action now by emailing/tweeting/ writing to your MP, MLA or AM. You can write directly or use one of our template letters here: https://fertilitynetworkuk.org/access-support/nhs-funding/funding-faqs/fight-for-fair-funding/
