Sake brewery tour Nada

Japan’s three major sake producing areas are Saijo in Hiroshima, Fushimi in Kyoto, and the last one is Nada in Hyogo. It is located in Hyogo Prefecture, which has the highest production and sales volume of sake in Japan, and the area where its main sake breweries are located is called Nadagogo (灘五郷).
There are records that sake brewing began in Nadagogo during the Muromachi period (1300s).However, Kyoto and Nara, where sake brewing was popular at the same time, were located inland, so they were at a disadvantage in transportation. Sake brewers from Itami (Osaka) set their sights on the coastal area of Nada, relocated their base there, and began brewing sake in this area, and this area became more active in sake production.
Water and rice suitable for making sake were easily available, and sake with a flavor that people of Edo liked became popular, and the area grew into a sake producing area that continues to this day.
Nada is close to Kobe and Osaka and easily accessible by train, so why not try visiting a sake brewery along with sightseeing?

Sake Brewery tours in Japan : Fushimi

Fushimi, Kyoto is a land rich in water with multiple large rivers flowing through it, and it is said that rice cultivation and alcoholic beverages have been produced there since ancient times.
Furthermore, it was Toyotomi Hideyoshi: one of the most famous sh**un who created the opportunity for the sake brewing industry to flourish. In 1594, Hideyoshi built Fushimi Castle, developed the city, renovated the Uji River, and created Fushimi Port, an inland river port. Roads were also constructed during the Edo period. Fushimi became a strategic hub for water and land transportation. So rice, the raw material for sake, sake barrels and so on were also gathered there. The traffic of people has also increased. Fushimi flourished and became a place where sake was produced for visitors and consumers of Kyoto.
The current sake brewery in Fushimi can be accessed not only by train but also by sightseeing cruise along the waterways. Kyoto is a popular tourist destination worldwide. Along with temples and shrines, visiting sake breweries is also a recommended sightseeing route.

Sake Brewery tours in Japan

If you love Japanese sake, would be natural for you to want to visit a brewery where sake is actually made?
For the people, we will introduce sake breweries that you should definitely visit when you go to Japan, or that are easy to get to.
First of all, we will introduce the sake brewery street in Saijo, Hiroshima, which is one of Japan's three major sake capitals!
Saijo is a town that prospered as a trade stopover during the Edo period. After that, it developed as a sake capital thanks to its climate and underground water. Seven breweries still continue to brew sake using traditional techniques. One of the reasons for its popularity is that it can be reached within a 5-minute walk from the nearest station; Saijo. They also offer a wide range of services including tourist guides, sake brewery tours, and tastings.
Why not take a walk along Saijo’s sake brewery street and enjoy its atmosphere and culture to your heart's content?

【YAMAOKA SHUZO】
They do their own rice polishing work. (Rice milling work is usually outsourced). Therefore, we are very particular about this rice polishing process.

- Founded in 1890.
- For over 130 years, Yamaoka Shuzo has been renowned for producing sake as well as their sake rice. Their motto is, ‘local sake is culture’, and you can taste the history and respect they dedicate to their sake with each sip.
- Zuikan, which translates to ‘Fortune spread throughout the world’, is their main brand name that has been enjoyed for close to 100 years
- Located in Hiroshima, the brewery also takes advantage of the varying temperatures and the 350-metre elevation to produce its signature flavour.
Their unique sake are quite popular in the Netherlands.

【🍫Happy Valentine’s day! 🍶】
How do you spend this special day? In Japan we also celebrate it, but in a different way from the western. Women give a chocolate to men! It’s said that chocolate companies there make at least half of their annual sales during this time of the year. Japan also has a day for men to return a gift to women, called White Day, on 14 March.
Actually sake matches chocolates well - can you imagine? Milk chocolates are good with full taste sake like Junmai-shu. Bitter chocolates match dry sake which brings rich cacao flavour. White chocolates are good with rich and fruity aroma sake like Ginjo-shu. Try them with your loved one💕

Check our bio link from our profile .official for more details.

We wish you a happy Valentine’s Day♡

【You Enjoy Sake. We Donate.】
― Support Japan Campaign in Jan 2024 ―

As you may know, the big earthquake that rattled Ishikawa prefecture on the main island of Honshu triggered tsunami waves more than a metre high, sparked a major fire and tore apart roads. This area is famous for its beautiful sake and unfortunately many sake breweries got damaged.
As a sake importer with an ambition to support sake breweries in Japan, we’ve launched a donation campaign!
【How does it work?】
When you make a purchase on our site, we’ll donate 10% of the sales via Yahoo! Japan donation (the name is ”令和6年能登半島地震緊急支援募金”(Reiwa 6nen Noto Hanto Jishin Kinkyu Shien Bokin).
We will send you a proof of donation after the campaign ends, on 1st Feb.
【Until when the campaign runs?】
Until 31st January 2024

By enjoying exclusive sake from Japan, you can support Japan!
We will attach a sake card for each product with info of food pairing recommendation and optimal temperature etc which helps you maximise the product!
…And when they recover, please visit Ishikawa and try their sake!!

Thank you for your big help and we hope no more damage will be caused there.
