Sometimes we misinterpret when the gun goes off. We think we’ve begun the race, but really it’s just a false start. No biggie. Just back up a little, reset, realign, & prepare for liftoff once more! Remember: there never really is a perfect time to start anything. Only our souls know when it is divine time. And our souls can communicate to our ego, but only if we are listening will we know when it is the “right time”. Our ego can sometimes take the wheel, which isn’t bad or good, but it’s important to know when you need to reset, open your soul, & listen for the real gun shot. #throwbackthursday #staywell #staywhimsical

I'm selfish, impatient & insecure. I make mistakes A LOT, I am out of control and at times I am hard to handle. But if you can't handle me at my worst, then you sure don't deserve me at my best. Whenever I make these poor choices, combatting my true higher self, I try to ground myself by soaking into my thoughts & breath. Most of the time my subconscious thoughts are negative, dark & brimming with demons poking at me with their pitchforks. But it only gets worse if I suppress those demons. If I don’t take the valuable time to come inward and reflect, ponder, & dive deep into what I have done that brought me down to this lower frequency—I go down an even darker path. Turmoil begins—the thoughts consume me. We’re all human—mistakes are what create our growth. But without genuine apology coming from the soul, you will live a life in FEAR. If people refuse to look at you in a new light & they can only see you for what you were, only see you for the mistakes you've made, if they don't realize that you are NOT your mistakes, then you have to let them go. If I have ever done something in the past that hurt you & created a lack of trust between us, I’m sincerely sorry. Keep swimming. ~cvc

I haven’t done heavy squats in over 3 months with consistency. 🏋🏼‍♀️ How did I maintain 315lbs for 7 powerful, fluent reps? 🧐🤨 Well here’s how you maintain strength when inconsistent with specific workouts like back squats: ~PROTEIN: eating healthy diverse protein sources (aim for 1g per lb bodyweight) & supplementing with EAAs. ~SINGLE LEG WORK: I spent the past 3 months taking advantage of single leg movements like pistol squats, single leg Romanian deadlifts, and shrimp squats (maintain power, balance & explosiveness). ~REMAINING ACTIVE: move. Just move daily. Stay on your feet. Don’t be sedentary. ~TRAIN OTHER MOVEMENTS TO REAL FATIGUE: don’t listen to your mind, listen to your body’s pain. ~DO NOT CUT CALORIES TOO MUCH: paramount to maintaining strength, endurance, power ~SPEED REPS UP & SLOW DOWN: I changed up pace when off the heavy heavy legs—I focused on time under tension, slow eccentric, fast concentric. ~VOLUME: de-load from heavy low reps and train with more reps here abs there from time to time.
