*FOR SALE* LEBRONZE — This is my 47th published piece and somehow my first LeBron. I have appreciated his career since the high school days and recently picked up a ton of singles to cut, so many more LeBron’s will be on the way soon. This one takes a straightforward approach of mixing old and new, with a 1979-80 Topps background, modern player photo, and bronze background assembled from strips of UD3 baseball cards.

This hand-made, one-of-one, custom trading card is composed from:

1979-80 Topps #97 Norm Nixon (border)
2019-20 Panini Chronicles #75 LeBron James (player, nameplate)
1998 UD3 baseball bronze base cards (background)
Loctite Super Glue
This handmade, 1-of-1, custom art card ships in an Ultra PRO® One-Touch® magnetic holder.

*FOR SALE* LITTLE LOGOMAN — After coming across a three-color jersey relic from a busted Bucks lottery pick, I knew I wanted to play around with turning it into a Giannis patch card. After finding the right kind of vertical photo, which is easier with a player as lanky as he is, I paired the shiny player picture with a glossy black background and white Hoops border around the patch.

I added a little logoman to the relic to have some fun with the patch and emphasize the fact that is is not actually from Giannis himself. I kept the serial numbering as a nod to the original card and also blended in a small amount of green and silver shine from the mosaic pieces in the original player photo card.

This hand-made, one-of-one, custom trading card is composed from:

2016-17 Panini NBA Hoops Rise N Shine Memorabilia #10 Thon Maker (patch, serial numbers, card back)
2021-22 Panini NBA Hoops #103 Giannis Antetokounmpo (border)
2019-20 Panini Mosaic #75 Giannis Antetokounmpo (player, green/silver shine)
1993 Flair baseball box (black background)
2023 Topps baseball base (filler layers)
1989-90 Hoops #228 Mark West (NBA Hoops logo)
Loctite Super Glue
This handmade, 1-of-1, custom art card ships in an Ultra PRO® One-Touch® magnetic holder.

*FOR SALE* STILT RELIC — While picking through the dollar bins at my favorite local shop Ripnpacks, I found two Wilt Chamberlain cards that looked like they would mix well together. The Turkey Red border is one of the most famous of all-time, but the original photo was nearly impossible to see, so I remixed the frame with a much more exciting image of Wilt, along with a game-used ball relic from an old Ron Artest card.

This is also one of the “deepest” cards I have made, in terms of the number of layers used to create a 3D shadowbox effect. I pulled the Topps Diamond Anniversary logo as a subtle attempt to resonate with the diamond shape of the ball relic. This hand-made, one-of-one, custom trading card is composed from:

2006-07 Topps Turkey Red #230 Wilt Chamberlain (border)
1992-93 Upper Deck Box Set NBA All-Star Collector Set #3 Wilt Chamberlain (player)
1998-99 Collector’s Edge Authentic Edge Ron Artest Diamond Ball (ball relic)
2011 Topps Cognac Diamond Anniversary #328 David Price (Topps logo)
2023 Topps baseball base cards (filler layers)
1993 Flair baseball pack box (black background)
1991-92 Upper Deck #175 Vlade Divac (back)
Loctite Super Glue
This handmade, 1-of-1, custom art card ships in an Ultra PRO® One-Touch® magnetic holder.

*FOR SALE* GOATEE GOAT — I had never seen a picture of Brett Favre with a goatee until I flipped over his 1999 Metal Universe card, and for some reason it gave me a huge laugh. I recently picked up a cool vintage Packers card and went to work blending the two together. While the goatee photo is fun, it’s also slightly boring, so I added an action shot to make things more interesting and include both home and away uniforms.

This hand-made, one-of-one, custom trading card is composed from:

1999 Metal Universe #150 Brett Favre, back (goatee photo)
1995 Score #64 Brett Favre (throwing photo)
1968 Topps #131 Herb Adderley (background)
2021 Topps Chrome Platinum Anniversary #126 Brandom Nimmo (border)
1993 Flair baseball box (glossy black background)
2023 Mosaic #345 Marte Mapu (NFL logo)
1994 Collector’s Choice
Loctite Super Glue #309 Bretty Favre (back)
This handmade, 1-of-1, custom art card ships in an Ultra PRO® One-Touch® magnetic holder.

*FOR SALE* THE FRANCHISE — This card originally started with the intent to blend a Topps Micro card of Ken Griffey Sr. into a card of Ken Griffey Jr., but the effort started to get clunky and I actually threw everything in the trash. Then I flipped a 1993 Upper Deck Griffey card over and saw the picture of him kicking back on the grass and throwing up a peace sign. I was instantly inspired to use it and pulled everything out of the trash to start over.

I am happy with the way the this piece blends three images and integrates the Topps Micro card (these are VERY small) alongside the studio shot and peace sign pic. Each of the photos encapsulates a different part of what made him such a special and beloved player, on and off the field, so I am excited to have them all represented in this card. I am hoping a Griffey fan will appreciate it enough to give it a new home.

This hand-made, one-of-one, custom trading card is composed from:

1998 UD3 #60 Ken Griffey Jr. (border, Mariners logo)
1991 Topps Micro #790 Ken Griffey Jr. (micro player)
1991 Score #858 Ken Griffey Jr. (studio shot, The Franchise logo)
1993 Upper Deck #355 Ken Griffey Jr. (peace sign photo)
1989 Upper Deck foil pack (white background, back of card)
Loctite Super Glue
Ships in an Ultra PRO® One-Touch® magnetic holder.

*FOR SALE* SEASON CROWNS — I have always found Derek Jeter very easy to hate, simply for his greatness. As an Angels fan, I found it disgusting that the Angels (and nearly ever other MLB team) celebrated his final game at the stadium in 2014 with a pre-game ceremony and a gift. I can’t remember any other active player receiving that kind of treatment and it still baffles me to this day why a team would do such a thing for an opponent.

That story aside, Jeter is one of the most collected players in The Hobby and well deserving of his plaque in the Hall of Fame (don’t get me started on Phil Rizzuto...). When I found a cheap copy of his Upper Deck rookie, I knew I had to remix it, but I waited until I knew I had a concept that was worthy of cutting it up. I think the result in this case is exactly that; embracing the “less is more” philosophy.

This piece ended up looking more like a “real card” than anything I have created so far. The glossy black Flair baseball box made the perfect up for Jack Wilson, allowing the final result to almost look like something that could have come from a pack. I retained the original UD logo in the upper left, but added the modern Topps RC logo to the bottom left to provide a small sense of era-mixing.

This hand-made, one-of-one, custom trading card is composed from:

1993 Upper Deck #449 Derek Jeter RC (player, nameplate, Top Prospect logo, UD logo)
2005 Fleer Season Crowns Jack Wilson Game-Used Bat Relic /399 (background)
1993 Flair baseball box (black background)
2023 Topps #52 Matthew Liberatore RC (RC logo)
Ships in an Ultra PRO® One-Touch® magnetic holder.

The player photo from this card is from the moment that Kobe Bryant really burst onto the national scene, winning the Slam Dunk contest as a rookie. This copy had scratches and bad corners which made it easy to justify cutting. The background is composed from “bricks” of rainbow foil from 1998 UD3 baseball rookies.

This hand-made, one-of-one, custom trading card is composed from:

1997-98 Fleer Ultra #1 Kobe Bryant (player)
1991-92 Upper Deck #142 Byron Scott (border)
1991-92 Upper deck various base cards (border layers)
1998 UD3 baseball Future Impact rookies (rainbow foil background)
1991-92 Upper Deck #57 Magic Johnson All-Star (back)
Loctite Super Glue
Ships in an Ultra PRO® One-Touch® magnetic holder.

*FOR SALE* MINT MANNING — The primary way I have challenged myself as a card artist, and part of the inspiration behind the “Cardboard Remix” name, is that I do not use “outside materials” from places like the craft store (or anywhere else) –– I create all of my pieces exclusively from cards, packs and glue. However, I finally broke my own rules by adding some currency to this one, which I thought made it even more fun and unique.

Many vintage sets included “coin rub” sections on the back that revealed the answer to a trivia question upon rubbing with a coin. I loved the coin rub section on the back of the 1968 Topps cards, but also loved the light blue parts of the front, so I went ahead and cut the thing in half so that I could rearrange the best parts in a new way.

While certainly weird, I love the way this one turned out. The quarter is from 1998 (the year Peyton was drafted) and the dime is from 2007 (the year he led them to a Super Bowl victory). I included a modern Indianapolis Colts helmet to help highlight its roots that stem from the Baltimore Colts logo on the left side.

This hand-made, one-of-one, custom trading card is composed from:

1980 Topps #45 Bert Jones (border)
2021 Donruss $148 Peyton Manning photo variation (player)
1968 Topps #74 John Mackey back (background)
1989 Score #42 Ray Donaldson (Colts helmet)
2022 Donruss #228 Matt Ryan Press Proof Premium (back)
Loctite Super Glue
Ships in an Ultra PRO® One-Touch® magnetic holder.

*FOR SALE* ROOKIE SERIAL — One of my all-time favorite sets is UD3, released from Upper Deck in 1997 and 1998 across all four major sports (god, how I miss those days), it featured incredibly innovative printing technologies and designs. I ripped a hobby box recently that had four different die-cut parallels inside, and after realizing I had not yet remixed a die-cut card, I went to work right away.

As a Portland resident, Julio Rodriguez is the biggest “local” baseball name, and one of the hottest names in the game no matter where you live. Although I am an Angels fan, I find it really easy to root for Julio as a player, and his swag and charisma are matched by very few in the game. He has the potential to be the Ronald Acuna of the PNW, which I used to fuel my excitement while creating this piece.

This hand-made, one-of-one, custom trading card is composed from:

1998 Upper Deck UD3 Base Die-Cut #71 Eric Karros /2000 (border, serial)
2020 Bowman Prospects Camo -19 Julio Rodriguez (player)
1986 Fleer Team Stickers Pennant (Mariners logo)
1998 Upper Deck UD3 #175 Kenny Lofton (OF position icon)
1998 UD3 baseball pack cardboard protection insert (background)
2023 Topps Series 2 #530 Brice Turang (RC logo)
Loctite Super Glue
Ships in an Ultra PRO® One-Touch® magnetic holder.

*FOR SALE* IMAGES OF 71 — After the positive response from using a 1971-72 Topps border on a recent Kobe Bryant card, I was inspired to use the iconic border style again. While many Jordan cards feature action shots of him flying through the air, I wanted to capture a different type of feeling by using a photo with him leaning over and looking. There are so many ways to appreciate the greatness of MJ, but his defense does not get appreciate enough in The Hobby. In that spirit, the card featured on the back shows him in a defensive stance, almost daring the opponent to come at him.

This hand-made, one-of-one, custom trading card is composed from:

1971-72 Topps #132 Bob Weiss (border)
1995-96 Upper Deck #335 Michael Jordan “Images of 95 – Return to Excellence” (player photo)
1990-91 Skybox #41 Michael Jordan (nameplate)
1997-98 Metal Universe Championship Preview #11 Juwan Howard (background)
1991-92 Upper Deck #388 John Battle (NBA logo)
Loctite Super Glue
Ships in an Ultra PRO® One-Touch® magnetic holder.

*FOR SALE* PACIFIC PATRIOT — I was picking through the vintage value bin at my favorite local hobby shop (Ripnpacks in Portland, OR) and came across an old Patriots quarterback card (with his eyes closed no less), and I knew instantly that I to use it in some kind of Tom Brady remix. I love the way the Patriots logo is integrated into the upper corners and I think it blended well with the modern nameplate. The shiny backing is actually the inside of a 1991 Pacific NFL football card pack, which also acts as the back of this piece.

This hand-made, one-of-one, custom trading card is composed from:

1967 Topps #2 Babe Parilli (border)
2018 Donruss Elite #92 Tom Brady (player)
2022 Panini Chronicles #3 Tom Brady (nameplate, NFL logo, #12)
1991 Pacific football trading card foil pack (background, back of card)
Loctite Super Glue
Ships in an Ultra PRO® One-Touch® magnetic holder.

*FOR SALE* UPPER DUNK — Michael Jordan can sometimes be a difficult athlete to remix because his cards are so expensive, even from the cheapest junk wax sets. I purchased a random mixed bag of cards (designed for kids) from a local hobby shop and inside was a card with Jordan dunking, which was all the excuse I needed to cut it up.

The border from a modern Prizm set is something commonly used by card artists, but the background behind a player cutout is often the most challenging part of a card, so I am excited with the result of integrating the hardwood court patters from the hobby hox of 1991-92 Upper Deck basketball. Along with the nameplate, I think it brings a fun splash of 90s into the modern frame.

This hand-made, one-of-one, custom trading card is composed from:

1997-98 Upper Deck Nestle Slam Dunk Michael Jordan (player)
1995-96 Skybox Premium Electrified #278 Michael Jordan (nameplate)
2020-21 Panini Prizm #101 Kris Dunn (border)
1991-92 Upper Deck basketball hobby box (background)
1993-94 Topps #101 Michael Jordan (back)
Loctite Super Glue
Ships in an Ultra PRO® One-Touch® magnetic holder.

*FOR SALE* MOSAIC MAHOMES — I have been trying to focus more on all-time greats than modern players lately, but Patrick Mahomes has accomplished almost everything possible in the NFL, and I figured it was time to create some cart art in his honor.

This hand-made, one-of-one, custom trading card is composed from:

2020 Panini Absolute #99 Patrick Mahomes (player photo)
2020 Panini Chronicles #47 Patrick Mahomes (frame, border)
1992 Upper Deck #494 Nick Lowery (Chiefs logo)
2020-21 Panini Mosaic Silver Prizm #4 Lauri Markkanen (mosaic pieces)
Loctite Super Glue
Ships in an Ultra PRO® One-Touch® magnetic holder.

8 POINTS 9 SECONDS — This piece was created as a gift for a huge Reggie Miller fan . He is the first player I remember who weaponized the three-point line and could change the game instantly with is deep threat ability, paving the way for Steph and others. The title of the card comes from the iconic time he score 8 points in just 9 seconds against the Knicks in the 1995 playoffs, which is a clip you must watch if you are unfamiliar.

This hand-made, one-of-one, custom trading card is composed from:

1990-91 Skybox #117 Reggie Miller (back, portrait photo)
1991-92 Skybox #596 Reggie Miller (shooting)
1992-93 Topps Archives #67 Reggie Miller (border, red player details)
1992-93 Fleer #91 Reggie Miller (vertical name)
1994-95 Signature Rookie Kro-Max #31 Anthony Miller (chrome background)
1995-96 Flair Perimeter Power #7 Reggie Miller (back)

*FOR SALE* MAMBA UP — I've created more than 50 pieces (about 30 of them made for sale) and somehow never created a Kobe card until now. As a lifelong Laker fan and one of the biggest collector's of Nick Van Exel in the world (), I have followed Kobe from the first moment he set foot on an NBA court. In fact, I was lucky enough to watch him play in the NBA Summer League at the Long Beach Pyramid in 1996 before the season even began. I am excited to present this piece, which blends the iconic "Los Angeles" from 1971-72 Topps basketball with a shot of Kobe lifting off for an epic dunk, sparkled with some modern shine in the background.

This hand-made, one-of-one, custom trading card is composed from:

1971-71 Topps #25 Happy Hairston (Los Angeles border)
2023 Prestige #63 Logan Wilson Xtra Points Diamond (shiny background, corner edge pieces)
2013 Panini Kobe Anthology #55
1991-92 Upper Deck #85 James Worthy Lakers Team Checklist
Ships in an Ultra PRO® One-Touch® magnetic holder.

*FOR SALE* GOLDEN ROOKIE — I am a huge fan of Philmington's Rookie Card Explosion Box subscription, which arrives every month with 6 to 10 assorted packs from modern baseball sets that feature key rookie cards. This month, I happened to open my subscription box and pull an Anthony Volpe rookie card on the same day that it was announced he would be the first Yankee ever to win a Gold Glove. This gave me the inspiration to start playing around with enveloping Anthony in gold somehow, which led to the evolution of the gold strips in both horizontal and vertical directions, hopefully emphasizing the depth of the piece more than creating a feeling of him being behind bars :)

This hand-made, one-of-one, custom trading card is composed from:

2023 Topps #460 Anthony Volpe rookie card
1990 Action Packed football cards, various (gold strips)
2013 Bowman Chrome Prospects Jose Peraza Blue Refractor (Bowman Chrome logo, SS position logo)
2022 Bowman Rookie of the Year Favorites -4 Vidal Brujan (RC logo)
1993 Flair baseball individual pack box (black background)
Ships in an Ultra PRO® One-Touch® magnetic holder.

*FOR SALE* FUTURE SHAQ — The most important card I ever traded for as a kid is my 1992-93 Upper Deck Shaq rookie. I remember trading a few Chris Webber cards (the hot new rookie the year after Shaq) for it, and I have held onto it since I was 7 years old. This art card uses the iconic triple exposure image of Shaq rising up for a signature dunk, blended with a cosmic background from a Metal Universe hockey box, a border from modern Prizm, and the Future Star logo from a Topps baseball card.

This hand-made, one-of-one, custom trading card is composed from:

1992-93 Upper Deck Shaquille O'Neal rookie card
2020-21 Prizm #207 RJ Hampton (border)
2022-23 Fleer Metal Hockey blaster box (background)
1989 Topps #233 Gregg Jeffries Future Star

*$60 SHIPPED* ALWAYS PRO BOWL — I ripped a few packs of 2023 Mosaic football and was instantly intrigued by the hexagon and octagon tiles that are featured throughout many of the designs. Barry Sanders is one of the most universally respected running backs in history, though he still doesn't seem to get the amount of love he deserves. I loved watching him shift and slide through defenses like they had grease on their hands. This card pops with a bright yellow border and is accented by a hand-cut mosaic tile background to set it off.

This hand-made, one-of-one, custom trading card is composed from:

1990 Topps 1000 Yard Club #3 Barry Sanders
2023 Mosaic football (various base cards used for tiles)
1990 Action Packed #73 Benny Blades (back)
Loctite Super Glue
Ships in an Ultra PRO® One-Touch® magnetic holder.

*$60 SHIPPED* DIAMOND DAN — With the NFL season about halfway, I have been trying to focus on making more football remixes using cards I've saved from my childhood. This card is a mashup of two 90's Marino cards that is sprinkled with modern diamond glitz from tiles made of 2023 Mosaic parallels. I think the final result is a fun blend of retro and future.

This hand-made, one-of-one, custom trading card is composed from:

1990 Fleer #244 Dan Marino (front and back)
1995 Fleer Metal #101 Dan Marino
2021 Mosaic #266 Jason Taylor Man of the Year

*$60 SHIPPED* PHOTOGENIC JUSTIN — I've always thought the Chargers have the best uniforms in the NFL and I am excited to finally release a remix featuring a Bolts player. While I am generally not a fan of Panini product, I do like the general layout of "ticket" themed cards and both Chronicles and Contenders are full of them. I borrowed a much more exciting photo from the Photogenic insert set (hence the card name) and went old school taking the Chargers helmet logo from a Junior Seau card (RIP) and the shiny background from a laser cut 90's insert of Antonio Freeman.

This hand-made, one-of-one, custom trading card is composed from:

2022 Panini Chronicles -19 Justin Herbert
2022 Panini Contenders #22 Justin Herbert
2022 Panini Chronicles Clear Vision -9 Malik Willis RC
1999 Stadium Club Illuminator 3x3 Antonio Freeman

*$60 SHIPPED* BO BREAKER — Bo Jackson is one of my favorite athletes of all-time and this "Bo Breaker" card is a junk wax favorite of many kids who collected in 90's (and today). I mixed in elements from a variety of other Bo cards from the same era, as well as some shine from 2022-23 Metal Universe hockey. The sparkling exploding bits are created from Upper Deck holograms.

This hand-made, one-of-one, custom trading card is composed from:
