Mini-Weekend Intensive Announcement! June 15 & 16
Sat from 1-3:30 PM
Sun from Noon - 2:30 PM
Day one is Improv Fundamentals
Day two is Introduction to Scene Work
$100 for the series. You must be registered and attend both sessions. Minimum of 7 attendees for the sake of the exercises and content planned. Classes without 7 attendees, will be held and rescheduled to allow for additional signups.
*Following this in JULY*
A mini intensive on character creation, utilizing your character's motivations and values in scenes, understanding how to embody the character from head to toe, and how to hold your own in a scene full of other big characters.

Mary Vickers Appreciation Post!
When I posted on Tampa Bay Improv that I wanted to run a Coached Ensemble program similar to New Team Smell in Chicago, I was excited that Mary reached out for an interview.
In the brief time that we spent together I knew that she is beyond capable of leading, inspiring, and has MORE than enough talent, care and thoughtfulness to lead a group of folx in creating an ensemble. I was not wrong, she is truly amazing!
She developed a really fun form for her team, and I watched them grow over the course of the shows.
Mary, it has been a true honor to work alongside you. I adore your energy and your presence. You have taught me as well, and for that I am eternally grateful. I look forward to future collaborations, and I hope you know that at SPIN you always have a home and I welcome all, and any, time we spend together!

It's ON!
The full training center is starting in JUNE!
Level 1 will be held on Thursday evenings starting June 22, and run for 8 weeks.
After that, you'll be able to head right into level 2, then 3, and 4!

The thing about improv, well the art of embracing improvisation, is that the benefits reach areas inside of your inner world that you didn't know existed. Liz believes that when we open ourselves up to play in collaboration with other playful hearts, the growth we experience together breaks us open. For her, this is what life is truly about.
In an improv class we don't teach you to be funny, we teach you to be yourself. We create space for you to accept yourself just as you are, to acknowledge the moments in which you feel fearful and uncomfortable and then with the support of your fellow artists you are encouraged to lean into those moments. Supported, you get to transcend and break through to a newer, brighter, freer, funnier version of the magnificent human that you are. Hippie stuff. It's beautiful.
Sounds pretentious in some ways. I know. *smh*
But Liz's life changed when she opened herself up to exploration, and at SPIN we hope to see who you will uncover in the process.
So join in, and put your SPIN on Improv!

One of the coolest things is that we'll be mobile. Able to produce shows and workshops all around Tampa Bay. With that in mind, I am excited to partner with Eclectic Sunshine Creative Studio for classes and The MAR St. Pete for Shows and Auditions. Both of these spaces are owned by fabulous humans who do great work to uplift our community, and if you haven't heard of them go check them out and give them a like! 👍
