Are you someone that snacks all day? ⁣

You may not realize how much snacking is preventing you from reaching your goals. ⁣

Snacking typically doesn’t satiate us, and the calories can pile on quick!⁣

It’s really easy to graze in the kitchen, but I have 8 tips for you to help stop mindless snacking! ⁣

𝗧𝗶𝗽 𝟭: Take control of your environment! ⁣
If you go grocery shopping, avoid buying foods that are easy to snack on. Try to only buy foods that require you to cook a meal! ⁣

𝗧𝗶𝗽 𝟮: Add friction! ⁣
If you are going to have snack foods in the house, put them somewhere out of the way. For example: have a bowl of fruit on the kitchen counter and a bag of chips upstairs put away. ⁣

𝗧𝗶𝗽 𝟯: Be present for your meals! ⁣
Sit down and enjoy your meals. No distractions! No phone, TV, or anything else that may distract you. Focus on how the food tastes and enjoy each bite and take your time eating. ⁣

𝗧𝗶𝗽 𝟰: Know your trigger foods! ⁣
We all have food(s) that we easily overeat. Recognize which foods are your trigger foods and try to avoid them and keep them out of the house. ⁣

𝗧𝗶𝗽 𝟱: Find stress relieving tactics that don’t involve food! ⁣
If hunger isn’t the problem, food isn’t the solution. If you’re stressed, try going for a walk, meditating, calling a friend, paint your nails, do some yoga, etc.⁣

𝗧𝗶𝗽 𝟲: Stay busy!⁣
I don’t know about you, but I find it harder to fight the urge to snack if I’m bored! When I stay busy, it keeps my mind off snacking. ⁣

𝗧𝗶𝗽 𝟳: Stay hydrated! ⁣
Making sure you are drinking enough water can help with reducing cravings. ⁣

𝗧𝗶𝗽 𝟴: Sleep! ⁣
Lack of sleep will increase your hunger hormone and decrease the hormone that signals fullness. Make sure to get 7-9 quality hours of sleep to help with cravings! ⁣

If having a snack between meals helps you get you through until your next meal, great! ⁣

THIS WOMAN had NEVER had a meaningful relationship until she went from a size THIRTY to a size EIGHT and attracted the LOVE OF HER LIFE – and now NOT EVEN HER MOTHER recognises her.

Internal recruitment consultant, Elizabeth Watkins (38) from Princes Risborough, Buckinghamshire, United Kingdom has struggled with her weight since she was a child. Coming from a small but close mixed Turkish and Armenian family meant that many traditions and celebrations were marked with food.

Because of that, food was eaten not only as a way to comfort the bad times, but to also celebrate the good times. As Elizabeth grew older and her weight increased, she cut herself off from the outside world to avoid strangers’ stares and pity. She only interacted with a small group of people who she felt comfortable to be around.
Physically, she struggled to walk, stand or sit and while remaining in denial about her situation she continued to eat her way to a sizeable 26st 9lb and was just about fitting into a UK size 30.

Elizabeth realised she couldn’t carry on as she was and knew she had to change her habits to lose weight to become healthier so in May 2017 she decided to have a gastric bypass.

After surgery, with determination she ate just 700 calories every single day for an entire year to bring down her weight. This helped her to lose an impressive one stone a month and after a year she continued at just 1,200 calories to lose the rest of the weight.
