Saint Mary Home wishes to congratulate our newest RN! Congratulations to Nerissa Hemmings one of our dedicated and caring Certified Nursing Assistants who just completed her years of schooling to become a Registered Nurse! We are so lucky to have you!!

The Saint Mary Home team is at it again!! Thank you to our colleagues, friends and family who made our annual Stock The Pantry Summer Food Drive successful! We find joy in pulling together to support our partners at Mercy Housing and Shelter. We were able to deliver a very robust SUV full of non-perishable food items to them just last week. Thank you to our delivery team Elizabeth and Susan from Admissions.

On July 9, yet another Trinity Health Senior Community held its first DAISY Awards Ceremony. Fraser Villa in Fraser, MI recognized CJ James, LPN, as a DAISY Award Winner for her extraordinary nursing expertise and compassion, and Jennifer Denhardt, LPN, and Shirley McIntosh, LPN, as DAISY Award Nominees. As the Opening Reflection entreated: "Gentle God of Healing, we come in thanksgiving for the nurses whom we honor through the DAISY Award. You have given them a lofty vocation-- to mirror your love and compassion for our residents. When we watch them work, we sense your calling and presence in their words and deeds."

At Saint Mary Home, we're overjoyed to celebrate National Therapeutic Recreation Week! In the words of Administrator Rachel DeMaida:
"Saint Mary Home is proud to wish a happy Therapeutic Recreation Week to our four fantastic Therapeutic Recreation Directors. This team of professionals provides both group and 1:1 recreational therapies to skilled nursing residents during all phases of their stay in our community. From music to laughter, funny outfits and creative games, this team is able to offer it all in a manner which appeals to each resident’s individual needs. A day won’t go by where you won’t see manicures, noodle ball, bowling, trivia, a tea party of music filling the halls compliments of this team. Thank you to our Therapeutic Recreation Directors for all that you do!"

We are thrilled to announce Dan Drake as the new President and Chief Executive Officer of Trinity Health’s three national continuing care organizations: Trinity Health Senior Communities, Trinity Health At Home and Trinity Health Programs of All-Inclusive Care for the Elderly (PACE), effective August 1, 2024.

Dan, who joined Trinity Health in 2014, brings 25 years of leadership experience in long-term and community-based services to his new role. Most recently, he served as President and Chief Operating Officer of Trinity Health PACE, overseeing more than 20 programs across 12 states.

As we welcome Dan to his new role, we're excited about the strong leadership and dedication he brings to our Mission. Let's join together in congratulating Dan on this new journey!

April is National Volunteer Month, and many Trinity Health Senior Communities are blessed with an abundance of volunteers who relish being advocates, companions, and friends to our residents. As they say in Italy, Il pane apre tutte le bocce “Bread Opens All Mouths”. Saint Mary Home colleagues traveled to Italy yesterday in celebration of the country of the month honoring and appreciating the diverse backgrounds of our many colleagues. A festive meal lead by Dining Director Joseph Del Greco and his passion for homemade Italian food just like his grandparents made. Colleagues enjoyed an authentic meal and dressed in the colors of the Italy flag. Next month travel with us to Mexico!
