You think your kid will love something but they don’t and then you end up rage eating and kinda also enjoying it but not fully because you weren’t supposed to stuff your face with another donut when you already had one 20 minutes earlier but you didn’t know that your kid would be this next level high maintenance picky and you can’t just toss a $6 pastry into the garbage or compost because that would just be a waste of your efforts and time and now you have to grab him a snack that he’ll like better and it probably won’t cost more than $1.

I like to provide a lot of notice to my kid before bed time so it’s not a surprise when it’s time for bed. I like to start right after breakfast usually.

It’s 6:50pm, my kids are on their screens and I don’t know what to make for tonight because it’s the 8,236,921 time I had to think about what to make for tiny people who live in this house with me. I found some great healthy recipes though and I have saved about 300 of them!
Why can’t we just eat tortilla chips for dinner? WHY????!!!

It’s ok for our children to see us experiencing sad emotions. It’s not ok if we make it their job to fix these emotions.
Building Resilience With Emotional Intelligence
I write a lot about being honest with your children about your emotions. I believe if children see the people they trust experiencing the same emotions they do at times, they may feel like emotions are safe and a healthy part of a full life. In response to this suggestion, I often have people confused with the balance between being authentic and being emotionally dependent on their child.
