We home educate year round so I don’t have first day of school photos.
But I have this needy puppy that likes to climb behind my back and fall asleep.

I have attended multiple homeschool conferences and festivals as a parent.

Yesterday was my first time attending a homeschool expo being on the other side of the table.

I was blown away by the fun I had and the enthusiasm from the parents and children.

Do you believe teamwork is a life skill?

I experienced teamwork throughout my band years from 6th-12th grade. What I didn’t realize was the importance of it past high school. This was not something that was explained or demonstrated.

I truly believe teamwork is a key life skill and greatly benefits our children no matter what plan they have after graduating.
Working together is something that occurs in my small group and 1:1 programs. Follow me or visit my website for more information.

Which era of Donald Duck is your favorite? Share below and see mine too!
Happy 90th Birthday to Donald Duck!
Growing up I was a Mickey and Minnie Mouse fan through and through.
As an adult, I suppose you could say Minnie went to the wayside, because Donald Duck began speaking my language!
Many people know Donald Duck for his fiery temper, impatience, and pessimistic attitude. My look is quite the opposite, because I see his perseverance and determination. He always overcomes his challenges.

Thinking back on past moments from summer tutoring classes fill me with joy. Comment below with a summer memory you have that puts a smile on your face!

A few summers ago, my go-to phrase was “Don’t hit that panic button!” One of my students made a note to remind herself, or make fun of me, I’m not sure which❔❔, of this before she began to panic about a math question.

In my classes, students discover different ways to stay calm and focus on their preferred process for any math skill!

If your child often reaches for the panic button, feel free to message me or visit www.varblemath.com to set up a FREE Discovery Call. Let’s see if I am the right fit for your family!

If you are looking for new ways to make math less frustrating and more fun, step outside!

Use astronomy to teach math! Oh yes, this is amazing! There are apps that when your phone is pointed to the sky will tell you what star or planet you are looking at! How fascinating is that? Then to make this more mathematically interesting, dive into the distance between the star or planet from Earth!
Find something of your child’s interest and turn it into a data collection project! Conduct surveys or experiments to collect data on topics of interest and use it to create graphs and charts. This hands-on activity makes math practical and relevant.
Introduce daily or weekly brain teasers or math riddles! These fun challenges can stimulate critical thinking and problem solving skills. This is a great way for your child to explain to you their thought process on solving the puzzle!

Math can be exciting and enjoyable with the right activities! Embrace these fresh ideas to make math a fun adventure! Remember hard tasks are great opportunities in disguise!
