Planet Dive Resort is the home of the Maricaban Strait Crossing and the POSCA wall of Maricaban Strait crossers.
No more than 10 feet from the deck, a lively coral garden. Swimmers start in water waist-high, swim over the coral and fish and head into the strait. Last Friday’s crossers are in the lower right corner of the photo.

Cookie is a former swimmer and decided almost at the last minute to give the crossing a go.
Finishing with a solid 1:08hr swim, what she did well was to sight high (reference point) while visibility was challenging, breathe bilaterally to keep an eye on the guide boat’s path, and course correct early.
Nicely executed swim, Cookie. Hope we see you in the openwater again soon.

Rey Angeles was registered in one of the four crossings that had to be cancelled due to typhoons.
As soon as the conditions looked good he was back. Good choice because the water was extra flat today.

Approaching and at the halfway mark in 46 minutes! Flat flat water conditions this morning but the currents were deceiving.
Other swimmers doing their one way crossings were taken off course.

We have a registration by a female swimmer for a Two-Way (7km) crossing of the Maricaban Channel!
We will be at Planet Dive this Sept.22 to see it happen.

Come cross the world’s center of the center of marine biodiversity with us! 3.5Km’s of the Maricaban Strait.
ANNOUNCEMENT:
July 14, Maricaban Crossing, is postponed due to the turn in water conditions and the updated weather forecast for tomorrow.
The LPA and habagat are interacting and what initially looked manageable at 6:15am today (video), no longer is.
A rescheduled crossing date will be announced shortly.

MAY 30 Crossing Update:
MARICABAN CROSSING NOT PUSHING THROUGH.
We have been on standby to see if the very recent weakening of Typhoon Betty would allow us to push through but unfortunately while the the forecast is no longer as bad, these are still GALE FORCE WINDS and dangerous in an already tough swim.
As of today, boat travel has been banned.
For swimmers signed up for this May 30 crossing, please wait for announcements on a re-schedule and/or we will hold your slot for one year (particularly for those who do not reside in the Philippines).

A new record in the Maricaban Strait Crossing books!
Dato Arroyo completes back to back April 13 and April 14 3.5Km crossings!
Not just that, but in the perfect conditions of the 14th his time on the second swim was TEN MINUTES FASTER.

Officially the best swim conditions (along with March 31, 2023) we’ve seen since we launched in March, 2022!
Pod of dolphins cross our swimmers’ path before the crossing today. Omen of excellent swim conditions!
