Planet Dive Resort is the home of the Maricaban Strait Crossing and the POSCA wall of Maricaban Strait crossers.
No more than 10 feet from the deck, a lively coral garden. Swimmers start in water waist-high, swim over the coral and fish and head into the strait. Last Friday’s crossers are in the lower right corner of the photo.
Our POSCA guide boats, captains and boatcrew are trained and certified to handle the Maricaban solo swim crossings.
Thank you for keeping us safe, po!
Cookie is a former swimmer and decided almost at the last minute to give the crossing a go.
Finishing with a solid 1:08hr swim, what she did well was to sight high (reference point) while visibility was challenging, breathe bilaterally to keep an eye on the guide boat’s path, and course correct early.
Nicely executed swim, Cookie. Hope we see you in the openwater again soon.
Patricia was a former swimmer and a strong junior triathlete. She signed up to help prepare for her 10km swim in Caramoan in a few weeks.
Welcome to long openwater swimming, Pat and congratulations again!’
Rey Angeles was registered in one of the four crossings that had to be cancelled due to typhoons.
As soon as the conditions looked good he was back. Good choice because the water was extra flat today.
At last! Congratulations, RA!

ANNOUNCEMENT:
July 14, Maricaban Crossing, is postponed due to the turn in water conditions and the updated weather forecast for tomorrow.
The LPA and habagat are interacting and what initially looked manageable at 6:15am today (video), no longer is.
A rescheduled crossing date will be announced shortly.
The Maricaban Strait Crossing is open for more crossings this July.
Register here https://bit.ly/POSCAMembership to be part of the exclusive club of solo swimmers completing the 3.5Km crossing (or more) along the Verde Island Passage.
MAY 30 Crossing Update:
MARICABAN CROSSING NOT PUSHING THROUGH.
We have been on standby to see if the very recent weakening of Typhoon Betty would allow us to push through but unfortunately while the the forecast is no longer as bad, these are still GALE FORCE WINDS and dangerous in an already tough swim.
As of today, boat travel has been banned.
For swimmers signed up for this May 30 crossing, please wait for announcements on a re-schedule and/or we will hold your slot for one year (particularly for those who do not reside in the Philippines).
We’re ready to add more names to the list of Maricaban Strait crossers!
The next schedule is on May 30, and we have 2 slots available.
