Congratulations to Freddie Elizalde for completing the FIRST TWO-WAY CROSSING of the Maricaban Strait last June 7, 2022. Freddie swam BUTTERFLY for the entire 7 kilometers from Anilao to Tingloy and back. POSCA Director Mikey Villanueva was the dedicated observer certifying, monitoring, and record-keeping Freddie's entire 3:05:38 swim. Amazing feat, we think this record will be standing for a while. Cross the Maricaban Strait, the last chance to swim it in June is on the 24th and slots are still available. There are two more open dates in July before we take a habagat break. Maiden POSCA solo swim crossing: MARICABAN STRAIT 3.5KM CROSSING A solo swim from Planet Dive Resort in Mabini, Anilao to Tingloy Port at Marikaban Island. The strait has multiple marine sanctuaries and is of course part of the world's center of the center of marine biodiversity - the Verde Island Passage. Channel crossings put all of one's openwater skills to the test. Seen here are national openwater swimmers Ron Villamor and Kevin Lua navigating channel currents and some chop. POSCA will open reservations for certified crossings of the Maricaban Strait, please follow us for developments.
