Since Madi posted it I am able to now. We are so excited for Madi. Mads you have dug in and worked so hard. You found you tribe of ladies to help you and you took their advice and ran with it. You and I have had many weightlifting sessions together and it’s been so fun to watch you grow. thanks for pushing her to keep growing even when it was hard. thanks for the killer weightlifting program and the tough love. you have always been there for our girl to push her guide her and at the end of the day just care so much about her. Mads we will miss you but we are so excited for you too.

See the thing is; my ROTC teacher told me I was gonna end up dead or in jail.

I grew up without a father figure in my life. I wore most of the same clothes from middle till I graduated. We were on food stamps and lived in the hood.

Those are circumstances that I did not let dictate my life.
I did not become a product of my environment.

Some of my friends called me stupid. Now look at me. I became aware that I control my destiny. I became aware that I could be the Man that I was intended to be. I became aware that there was only one branch that could build me into a Man.

I became a Marine!

How is it possible you are 17? I feel like you were just 7. Mads you have made this family complete. Your joy and laughter are contagious. You have great comedic timing and you know just when to use it. The next 2 years are going to fly by and then you will be on a journey that’s all your own. My prayer is that in the next to years you stay true to who you are unapologetically, you make more memories to last a lifetime, and you loves Jesus with you whole heart. We love you so much and are so proud of who you are!!!

Happy National Daughters day!!!! I am truly blessed to be your mom. You teach me daily something new. Love you both very much and am so proud of who you both are.

We did it. We had so much fun prepping for the run and finishing was the icing on the cake. One of us might have even finished her first 5k. So fun having amazing friends to do life with and crush some goals. I have gained best friends and the best running buddies ever.
