Senator Bean made the finals in the state fair draft horse competition, but was edged out of first following a controversial split decision by the judges. He thanks his many supporters who came to the arena to cheer him on.
People sometimes get the impression that elected officials and their staffs spend their days in air conditioned offices making deals with other officials or planning their next fundraiser, but that simply isn’t true. This week, Senator Bean’s Chief of Staff Ryan Gill helped to organize an outstanding event for 300 Missouri students to learn more about agriculture, and made sure those kids got to take home a Bootheel watermelon courtesy of Weaver Produce and Bean Farms. That would have been a pretty good accomplishment all on its own, but Ryan personally helped load 300+ watermelons on the buses (with help from the Lincoln University staff and volunteers, Jeremy Clenney, and Senator Rehder’s Chief of Staff Daris Davis) in the 100 degree heat of the noon sun. Great things don’t happen without great people. Thanks, Ryan!
