The beauty of two lines coming together to celebrate the birth of their grandbaby is truly heartwarming! Ending the month of July with the joy of a natural birth is a precious reminder of the strength and resilience of mothers.

The room was full of love and laughter as we discussed their family tree and birth experiences! I learned that one of the grandmothers mother had had 16 unassisted births at home. Her incredible journey is a testament to the power and grace of women through the generations and what led to the mother to be wanting a natural process.

What a week it's been! In the last seven days, I had the honor of supporting 2 births, 1 lactation appointment, 3 postpartum appointments, and 2 incredible events. As busy as it's been, it’s so worth it. My heart is full. ❤️

Every so often, I sit with my thoughts, and what it means to me to be a doula arises. To me, it looks like filling in the gaps. That looks so different for each family. But we know and understand that the gaps are plentiful unfortunately. As a CFSD, CBE, and CLS, I have the ability to support my families through their wide spectrum of experiences.

Being able to offer this support is a true privilege and a passion. Whether it's during pregnancy, birth, postpartum, or lactation, I'm here to ensure every family feels seen, heard, and cared for.

Now, it’s time for some meaningful rest and reflection. Pictured below are two heartfelt texts I received this week from two of my amazing clients. Thank you all for letting me be a part of your journeys. 💕

As a doula, I spend the majority of my time holding the mother but I savor the moments when I have the duty of holding the sweet new babe. Supporting the mammas in those precious first moments is truly special.

I'm incredibly proud of the birth team today and the support that was provided. A wonderful nurse of 30 years showcased her knowledge and experience by assisting in initiating skin to skin and breastfeeding in the OR and provided top notch care over all. Today I am a proud doula.

This is a monthly session that will include outings, workshops, resources and research, parent discussion boards, community events and more. 💡

Have you ever seen a mamma smile, sing, and joke around from the start to finish of L&D? This is the face of a twin mama who recently welcomed her beautiful babies into the world through a peaceful vaginal delivery like an absolute boss! 💖 With the unwavering support of her super supportive partner and the loving presence of her amazing family, this mama demonstrated incredible strength and grace throughout her birthing journey.

From the moment she stepped into the birthing space, there was an aura of love, protection and positivity that filled the room. It was truly inspiring to witness the deep connection and unwavering support between this couple as they welcomed their little ones into the world.

The joy and love that filled the room as she held her babies for the first time were simply indescribable. It was a moment of pure magic and overwhelming gratitude, a testament to the incredible power of love and the beauty of birth!

At YMOA INC our goal is to make each member feel loved , encouraged and most of all supported !

We have constant communication and interaction with our mamas around the clock ⏰ because at risk doesn’t stop at 5pm !

Here is an example - Renesa , our Resource and Mapping Director reaches out to mamas who need additional support and services. She is always relatable and also has a cute baby who comes to work with her every day to show mamas that THEY can do anything they put their mind too 💕

Today, I witnessed the incredible strength of a mom who, after a challenging C-section, found herself needing a little extra support. As a doula, my heart swells with gratitude for being able to step in and help her when she needed it most.

In those precious moments, when exhaustion and the aftermath of surgery made it difficult for her to hold her baby to breastfeed, I was there. With a gentle touch and a shared understanding, I cradled her little one at the breast, allowing this resilient mom to rest and recover.

This experience has reinforced the profound impact doulas can have in shaping the beautiful narrative of birth and motherhood. Together, we create a circle of support that goes beyond words – a testament to the strength that emerges when we lean on each other.

Here's to celebrating the incredible journey of motherhood, where every act of kindness, no matter how small, creates ripples of love and empowerment. 💖
