I love @blackwhiteroasters 🐼 I have been going to the Wake Forest spot for a good chunk of time now and feel beyond stoked that it’s the go-to. I always look forward to coming back to Raleigh when visiting the fam knowing these gems are right around the corner. If I’m being honest, I only just found out that Black & White Coffee Roasters was started by 2 US Barista Champions, which in hindsight, makes total sense! Cannot tell you how excited I was to find this place back in 2018. Bessssttttt coffee hands down. If any of my kiwi friends are interested in doing a lil bean swap (haha) hit me up. I’ll send you a bag of black and white because it’s something that I want my international coffee pals to experience. Love love love 🐼 💖
Day 4 of brewing with the Aeropress done and dusted 🩷 I gotta say, there isnt much structure to this video. I had another filming location in mind and it turned out to be a letdown so I went for a little drive and found this nice little lake moment. But, with that caused us to go a little off the beaten path (pun intended) By the time I started filming, it was already 1pm. As much as l’d like to say this week has been super planned out, it hasn’t. Everything has been on a whim. I really wanted to push myself by doing the scouting, filming, AND editing all in one day. And I’m pretty proud so far for actually following through! This project has allowed me to get creative, get outside, and just film every day. Today’s brew consisted of @passengercoffee - Peru. 15 grams in, 230 out. Just off the boil on the jetty. Made a sandwich, forgot it in the cooler 🥴 Let’s check in tomorrow to officially go over the two different ways to brew with the aero, since I clearly missed all points of topic today. Cya then! 😘
GAME. SET. MATCH! Today was too nice to not play a few games of tennis with my pal @ashtonpaigeand ✨ The best part about brewing with the @aeropress is truly how compact it is and the tools that come with it allow precision without having to bring your scales. Each aeropress kit comes with filters, a funnel (not shown in video) a scoop, a paddle, and a scoop. One heaping scoop gets you about 15g of whole bean coffee which I find produced a nice clean cup. From here, I just filled my yeti with boiling water, brought some @perccoffee and we were ready to go! We had so much fun playing today and drinking brews. This was also Ash’s FIRST coffee from an aeropress and it blew her mind (wish I got that audio because it was immaculate) Next time you head to the court, go on and bring the aeropress 🎾 Big thanks to my girl @ashtonpaigeand for helping me today. We’ve also given ourselves one month to become reeeeallly good at tennis 😉 Check in with you guys tomorrow for another brew!
Day 2 of 💘Aeropress love. I mean, I’m loving the clear pink. To have a front seat to all the action that takes place in the chamber, what a treat. For each brew, I do change up my dosages depending on what I’m brewing for and what beans I’m using. For this recipe, I’ve done 19g coffee, filled up 3/4 way, slight bloom + 5 second agitation, and 230 grams of water all up. Stay tuned for a full breakdown on why I think the @aeropress is one of if not the best brewers out there 💋
Anyone else have to go on a marathon around the yard while using that hand grinder? You’re getting those steps in while simultaneously causing more wear and tear on those brittle baby bird wrists 👍
Late night brews ✨ I’ve missed the @aeropress so much! I’ve gotten way too comfortable with the origami dripper. It’s also reminded me that I need to get a jet boil asap so I can start brewing more outside. I’m still obsessed with @blackwhiteroasters Gamatui Natural and will probably never get over it. (Dear Diary…) Nutty Buddy’s dipped in drip and a goodnight 💋
